Whats to stop you from making an OP character?
Everything is looking great here as I'm deciding to buy or not. But...I did have one question. I see there is a TON of flexibility in terms of characters and their abilities? Is there some sort of balance set within the game that prevents me from making a character with insanely strong abilities? If it is a strong attack, does the AP automatically go up? Or can I set the AP to 1 and the damage to 9999999 and just one shot everything?

Mind you, I wouldn't want to do that. But having game-set limitations would make it less tempting to "cheat" while also making sure the game is still balanced in a way to be fun. I'm no game designer, and I hate to make a character I think is balanced and fun on to realize later that I botched it up and end up down a rabbit hole of tinkering with abilities.

Hope that makes sense. :-P Thanks, friends!

The game autobalances in that you set the general ideas for what you want the ability to do, but the game handles and balances the final output of the numbers. You can be like "I want this to hit three squares and cost 4 AP" and the game will decide how much damage it does based on what you input.

That being said, people have built some pretty op characters, but you need to know how to play them properly as they require very specific playstyles to actually work.

Enemies with Reflect.

If you're desperate for a gamebreaking effect - try 'Kill X%' ability from tutorial Archer.

It does exactly what's written on a tin: kills the target on the spot with some chance.

The real cheese is in developing parameters for custom runs. Where you can rack up lots of gold for little effort. So does not matter which character is there.

Still some enemies with protection against that, I'd say heavy summon builds with persistence and a variety of abilities is probably more op.
