Single player/Console commands?

So I recently found this game in my library (don't remember getting it...) and immediately fell in love. The genre is exactly what I like, with an upgrade and level system that works well. My only problems with it is that it's server only (it seems) and that the levels take a ridiculous amount of experience for each level up. So is there any way to play the game singleplayer or use console commands to try and lower the experience needed for a level up?
