Panda School Browser

Panda School Browser

Some sites aren't working
I tried the newly added Whyville and wasn't able to get past the first screen. I don't know why this is, but it may be trying to link offsite for registration, or it may be using javascript. At any rate, if the sites don't work properly, there's no point in them being there in the first place.

Thanks for the report! Indeed we have the same behavior and it is due to an excessive use of subdomains on this website. We'll hide it from public for now, but will reveal it back later after a small fix to the browser.

Does this mean that Panda School Browser blocks some cross-domain requests? If so, that would give me a lot of confidence in the security of the browser.

WarPigeon, yes it sure IS blocking cross-domain requests.

This issue is a bit different however. It is about subdomains of an already approved website. Sometimes we can trust a website fully, but sometimes it's better be wary, since some site may provide a content we don't want a kid to see on it's own subdomain. E.g. youtube-mirror.otherwisegoodsite.com :)

Excellent! Glad to hear that you are taking the more cautious route when it comes to cross-domain and even subdomain requests. =)

Also, just wanted to let you know I picked up a copy of Panda Browser. It doesn't show a mouse icon next to my name because I think I'm going activate it on the other computer's Steam account. For now it's sitting in my inventory until I decide which computer I want it on.

Thanks for your support WarPigeon. Looking forward for your feedback, after you'll try our browser in action :)

I tried the Kodu website and was unable to do anything but view the homepage.

swarmdruid, yes, I agree, it's not very reasonable to propose this site in our collection... It's not very usable from the browser.
On the other hand... HOW on earth can we skip it? :D
My son have spent almost 3 straight months toying around with Kodu during his "screen time", researched it so thoroughly and had so much fun... And he's only 7 now... What's more to come?
Definitely we can't skip this website... keeping it just for the sake of sharing with others.

That makes sense. You guys introduced me to some amazing sites through PSB!

Thanks for your kind words swarmdruid. That's exactly our "mission" :)

Hi i contacted you over a year ago via email about this issue of sites not working

in emails you told me to try different things i tried them all and the last email you sent me was stating that after looking into things you had relized the issue wasnt with my end it was your end and you would contact me a few weeks later on about a fix for this issue

but you have failed for a whole year to respond to and fix to my issue
my children have not been able to use this panda browser to the full possibility because the peppa pig area you click on throws a stop sign up by the name at the top of the screen

i am sure if you check back through your emails for this issue you will realize how long you have left me with no answers it has been more than weeks its been over a year

the simple question was can you fix the browser to allow my child to use the site they actually want to go on i informed you that it wasnt just this one site that was doing this but others too and you stated that the issue was with steam download of the browser so you had me remove it and download the beta version from your website

however i am still left now with panda browser saying panda school browser ( beta version ) in the top right corner of the screen i have been seeing that you are releasing new things such as folders and updating the news parts of the site but are not actually looking into a fix for my issue
i contacted you about over a year ago

so please could you look into this further and actually try and fix this issue my children are loosing intrest in something i thought was a good idea for there safety online but with it rendering them unable to use certain sites i am having to constantly stop them using the panda browser because they cant get onto the sites they want to use as it says stop all the time at the top in a red icon with white writing like a stop sign everytime they click the pepper pig icon or website or videos everything apart from that one and a few others are letting them click them but those set ones they cant use because of this stop issue

Hi startac43,

I've got to admit it's my mistake here. Thing is - I've wrote even 2 emails at the time (this January), even before the date I was going to... but sent them to a wrong recipient :(. I'll forward you these 2 emails right away, and let's continue fixing this problem. As you'll see in those emails I suppose it is quite fixable and was not reproducible at our side because of the ways many sites are using geolocation feature.

ok thank you i look forward to reciving them how they managed to go to the wrong recipients i dont know though as my email address isnt common
