Am I too late?
Hello all. I was thinking about jumping into this game today, but am kinda hesitant beacause I am afraid that I am too late. Is it still fun to play the game so late into release. I saw on a site that season 3 is in the works, but does this make season 1 and 2 unenjoyable because they are over?

Hi!

All the ARG is still playable (fake website, online investigation, etc...). The only part missing are the live event that you can replay.

Did you try the demo? It's only the first three training mission but it can give you a 'taste' of what's to come. :)

I also invite you to join the community @ forums.blackwatchmen.com if you wish to ask you questions, we are much more active there.
Is there going to be a third season?

I am working on the story arc, but I haven't figure out the budget and productions details. I may release a sandbox in the meantime : Mother Russia.
Thanks for keeping us updated! I appreciate it. I'm loving the game so far, I'm on Mission 5 and starting it today, I was sad I missed the interactivity so I'm glad I'll be able to join next time.

What do you mean by Sandbox?

Will I have to beat the first two seasons to partake in 3 live or would I be able to partake in 3 if I'm only on season 2 by then?

You don't have to complete season 2 to participate in S3 Live Event. That said playing the S3 while the Live Event go one will actually help you follow and understand the storyline.

As for the sandbox, when you click on the Campaign screen (in the mission hub) you have the ability to choose between official campaign and sandbox.

Sandbox represent a group of 3 to 5 missions created either by the community or TBW staff as and expriment. They are in general different for the official season. In the sandbox we tend to experiment more with various type of puzzle or ARG mechanics.

We also have student in game design that are currently developing a sandbox as their final exam.

Finally, in the same screen, you will be able to access DLC pack. Pricing will probably be between 5$ to 7$ and include about 5 missions around a specific theme. Mother Russia will likely be the first one. These DLC cover some of the smaller unsolved mystery of S1, S2, the beta or even the Gate 33 and End of days arg from The Secret World.

One example come to mind: what happened to Whitechapel? :)
Oh wow, so this is tied to The Secret World universe? I did not know that. I just heard about this from a friend the other day we buy a ton of Lovecraftian influnced stuff from Steam and he recommended this.

Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it and it's awesome of you guys to answer questions and keep everyone updated like this.

Mother Russia sounds great. I'll try to catch up on everything by Season 3. I'm really looking forward to raising my Agent Level and taking part in the real world elements.

Yup, back in 2012, I created The Black Watchmen as part of the pre-launch ARG for The Secret World. It was followed by the "Maya: End of days" ARG.

In 2014, I asked Funcom the permission to spinoff the ARG as a full game. The Black Watchmen also have some reference to BTYC (Behind the Yellow Curtain), a Lovecraft ARG I ran from 2008 to 2012.
Thank you for the reply! Yes, i did try the demo out, and loved it!!! I was big into The Secret World and remember the EoD event. I am going to purchase the full game and try and get caught up to speed for season 3.
KSkate, I'm doing the same thing. Maybe we can collaborate if we run into some trouble and you catch up? I'm currently working on Mission 7 and ran into a brick wall with the second or third part of it. The one with the code in the email.
I debated playing this for a long time. Now I think I'm ready to jump in. Really looking forward to season 3 when it comes.
