Hey - sorry for the late reply. I can't really summarise the story because the entire theme of the game is for the player to think for themselves. The game presents you with certain information, and it's up to you to decide what to do with it. And what to think of it. That's also why there is no feedback given to the player at any time. All the information is there though for you to have a pretty good idea about how things truly went down. :)

Although I understand, that's a bit sad to me. I really wanted to fully understand what you, the developer, have created there...

If you have really read everything the game has to offer you should know:

that there never were any demons at all. The whole thing was just a scheme from Donald ro get revenge using a special drug to cause halucination which was inserted into the immunization room everybody uses every day. The guy who chased you was probably Donald himself given the fact that you'll find his key after you burned him to death. Remember that you have been "immunized" as well so you experienced halucinations as well. IN fact everything you experienced in those cellars could be a hallucination. [/spiler]

Load your latest savegame and read everything regarding Donald Wolfe on the PC. You'll find out that he lost his daughter and wife (both have committed suicide) and that he blames a group who was giving false hope to them for their demise. That is the reason he develops the Red Butterfly to find persons which are giving false hope to people just to get a financial gain and he wants them to commit suicide like his wife and daughter has before. These are the so called demons.

So, the story, as I understood it, in a little bit more detail

Yes, Donald starts his personal revenge plot. He gathers a team of 5 'hunters' and puts them on drugs, and these junkies start capturing and torturing people. After a while an affair starts between two of them, Zack and Sasha. Kegan gets jealous and decides to make Sasha catch a demon virus. He replaces Sasha 'vaccine' with what is effectively a saline. So she stops taking drugs and starts to come to her senses and decides to leave this place. Breaking into Donald's office she gets too much information, so he won't just let her get out. He tells hunters she's a demon now and so they catch Sasha with this James guy. So there are just 4 hunters left. Now Zack, this doctor guy, just can't accept that Sasha is lost, so he decides to heal her from this demon virus whatever the cost. He finds this ancient manuscript with some ritual. This ritual requires 3 demon hearts and 3 hunters hearts. Zack performs the ritual (and that means he killed other 3 hunters) and guess what it doesn't work. So he leaves the place and he is the guy who got ran over by the cop's car. Now Donald is the only one who stays there. Then the cop gets in, the game starts, and finally the cop meets Donald. But by this time the cop is so high on drugs that instead of arresting Donald and reading him his rights he burns him alive.

I was wondering who it was at the end of the game chasing you, it makes sense if it's Donald indeed. Anyway, great game. The logic behind some puzzles were a bit odd but I really loved the story. Very good.

It's not Donald. Donald is long gone from this place. :)

Michael Sylar is supposed to still be alive... He was never "expired". He may be the one that the sheriff found on the road. And Zack might be the "demon" you burn alive.

I didn't make the connection between the person they got run over and Zack. That's brilliant thanks for this!
