A quick discussion on Storm 1.
I think Storm 1 is better than most games in this series, especially for player vs player matches.

For example the game had the ability to let you run up and down walls, while some of the later lacked this.

It also had Ninjutsu clashing, as in things like Chidori and Rasengan would clash together, and you'd need to do win the class in order to damage the enemy. (I think you'd press the Circle button over and over before your opponent)

It also had Ultimate Jutsu clashing, in which you had to press buttons that came up on the screen in a certain order, before your opponent, if your opponent got more, they'd use a substitution jutsu and escape with no damage, you also had another two different control types, one in which you spam the Circle button, and one in which you spin the analog stick in a circle, you can pick your preference in the settings.

The first storm game also had the ability to attack enemies on the ground.

The clashing was one of the better parts of this game, I have no idea why it was removed in the newer versions, and I think that the newer games (Revolution or 4) would have benefited with having the clashing system.

Not to mention the free play which was removed in later games (You could explore the village)

Also the Ninjutsu (Not ultimate) clashing looked like this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5liksXuR8

wall running was terrible. It's much better in this game, not sure why they didn't include it in free battle.

and the button clashing is annoying, i don't want to wear out my controller by having to smash the buttons. Doing those quicktime events in the story is plenty.

and exploring the village, waste of time. Woohoo i can throw a shuriken and move the camera... I'VE NEVER SEEN SOMETHING SO AMAZING!!!!

I agree with Tyler. Button clashing is annoying as hell in my opinion.

Also you can explore villages in the Adventure mode, I think that is enough.

Well I still have my original controller for my PS3, and I played this game very heavily at release, with a few buddies.

They are made to take some punishment you know.

At least UN5 had some Hack N' Slash Battles and actually led you go to a lot of places in its Free Roam, it was so awesome <3

they aren't unbreakable, and in the heat of the moment i usually hit that ♥♥♥♥ pretty hard.

i don't want to have to spend $40-50 on another controller because of something like that.

Sounds like a personal problem, you don't need to hit it hard, you need to hit it fast.

In fact hitting it hard would slow you down.

Not really, the damage is also based on how hard the attack is, so for example if you had a fully charged Chidori versus a not charged at all Rasengan, it would be much harder to win with the Rasengan, it wasn't just all based on who'd tap the fastest, so it had an element of waiting for the right time to use it if you couldn't tap fast, or trying to surprise the enemy if you could, hopefully catching them when their low on Chakra, and can't do a clash with you.

No its a poor mechanic problem.

In any event i'm glad they were removed, button mashing isn't fun.
