Gaara's Tale: Genjutsu mission glitched?

During the Genjutsu mission for Kankuro in Bond of the Sandy Shore, there is an objective to get an item from a merchant in hidden cloud village and then from Guy/Lee in the hidden leaf. However, when I have completed both of these objectives, they start to repeat even though I should be able to return to Kankuro (I can't find him on top of the Kazekage estate) and the objective keeps looping with no way to advance. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

there's a similar bug with Ohnoki in his prime quest, I've already found 10 chilli mushrooms but they're not added to my inventory nor the quest info changes and no matter how many I find, it still tells me that I need to find one, also tried talking to Tsunade but it doesn't work

I haven't started Gaara's Adventure ... should I wait for a patch before playing it?

Basically, 2 side quests are bugged and one of them prevents you from starting another one so you won't be able to do 3 side quests

I experienced that too. After i get one on Turtle Island I went to check back on Tsunade and she doesn't recognized the chili mushroom i found. And I checked inventory, saw that the chili mushroom i found weren't there. So i went again and gave up on 3rd one. So i just bought the one from merchant and it seems that worked.

Not true. I can do all side quests except for the bugged one mentioned in the OP.

Seems you can override one bug by buying the chilli shroom from the merchant instead trying to loot it on turtle island
