Game Redownloading
I downlaoded the game, which took three days.

Then, after "installing" It is trying to download the game again - Immediately afterwards.

I have 35.5 GB of files installed, did it mess up? should this be 40gb?

also when I check the integrity of my files it says everything is fine. But it wont let me play, it wants me to download the whole thing again.

It seems that the size should be 40GB. So it looks like installed 35.5GB, then deleted the downloaded install files, then started redownloading.

How the hell did this happen?

also why can I not just download the files that I am missing? Why is it making me download the whole 32.1 GB again?

Any thoughts?

UPDATE: I "deleted local content" and it didnt actually delete the files. Then I reinstalled and it validated my local content. Unfortunately, afterwards, it went to download the entire 32.1 GB package again...

This problem happened before to some people. Do you have your storm 4 game folder in the default Steam folder?? or you changed the directory location of the game before install it?

nope, the default folder. Not the original program files folder, but the folder I have designated as the default one.

I have given up on not having to redownload. My biggest concern right now is if I download the whole thing again and it does the same thing. I will flip my ♥♥♥♥...

Yeah, that might be the problem, it seems the game verifies if the storm 4 files are in the original program files folder and cuz it can t find it then start to download all the files again. I don t remember if they fixed it changing the folder to the orignal path or they did something else to fix it.

the drive with my program files is a partitioned SSD, it is not big enough for this game - therefor this is not an option for me...

Can this really be the issue? Surely loads of people have it installed elsewhere?

Also it concerns me that 90% of the posts in this board are talking about game-breaking technical issues and I have seen 0 admin responses...

Well yeah, this game has some compatibility issues, that means it doesnt work as it should for all the model of PCs, some graphic cards have problems with it but you can fix those problems following some short steps.

Admins and moderators almost never reply here, we help ourselves to fix these issues.

Thinking about it this does not sound like the issue I am having, when I "deleted local content" (and it didnt actually delete the installed files) it spent about 20-30 minutes validating my local content - It must have actually be scanning the files in the destination they were installed.

I think it was some kind of installation error. Perhaps the files that are installed are all corrupted and thus they all need to be redownloaded? It just bugs me that it deleted the downloaded files before finishing the installation and confirming the files integrity. Perhaps this is a steam issue rather than this game.

I will redownload, and hope that this crap does not happen again...

Thanks for the input guys.

You might be right cuz the re-download over and over was a pretty rare problem, like only 1 or 2 guys got that. Try to exit steam enter again and try to change the server from where you are downloading, you can do that going to Steam -> Parameters -> Downloads -> Download region. There are like 5 servers for Australia, just change it to another one.

Good luck :)
