Remote Play on Ultimate Ninja Storm 4

My friend and I both own the game, have it installed, and are both on keyboard. We have tried to use Remote Play on this game over the same internet, but we are having issues. He can control my computer, like selecting my character, but when he presses enter, it doesn't allow him to "start" and play as P2. Any answers on why this is? Do we need to be on controller?

local coop won't work with 2 players on keyboard. One or both need to use controller. (Tip: one of you could try using a program to emute a controller)
