I honestly hope some other publisher gets a hold of some anime rights and pay developers to do a good job. You dont need more than 1 hand to count good bandai games. Naruto fans got lucky.

Really? It's my first time hearing this.

What's the story, then? I'd like to know more about it.

Cyber Connect 2 is not ended. They finished the Ultimate Ninja series and didn't want to keep making games for that series. They are still making games, including Dragon Ball: Project Z for Bandai Namco themselves.

CyberConnect2 are making games but what kind of games and how? Their animal strategy game is delayed to Fall 2019, from what I remember (which can mean even further delay) and apart from that, they've got nothing with a stable release dates. Just small scale indie games that aren't as impressive as anything they've done.

Dragon Ball Project Z seems nice but I don't expect anything out of it. Bandai is strict about money and they'd rather give less to developers but spend a ton on fake youtubers.
Well, that's the opposite of ended. And you say their new game seems nice so... I don't think you can get it better than that at this point.

And... what can you explain about Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown then?

I don't think it's trash to me.

Prior to that Bandai Namco were only supporting some developers and they didn't have much say in what games look like and etc., developers were doing what they wanted and Bandai would give them the money. There was a nice balance between the studios.
Then something hit Bandai and they decided to change their strategy to this so-called "Play Anime", which basically means that they started hyping up games via YouTube and such for the audience that doesn't really need those anime adaptations. As a result, they started doing what the customers who don't even watch the anime that much wanted: make flashy games that follow the modern trends. So, no more Warriors adaptations for those who know how to play Warriors games, no more fan-centered fighting games - only flashy and empty products (not games) like Jump Force and World Seeker, something that looks great on YouTube videos but ends up a nightmare to play.

Their strategy is to get the hype.

Before they conquered the sales, Koei Tecmo was making some brilliant anime adaptations with their own spin, CyberConnect2 were doing what they wanted, Spike Chunsoft would give us some good games, too. But now it's all just Bandai and their "play anime" strategy of hyping up, getting the cash and running.
I mean, look at Jump Force. The game failed terribly, even people who don't play fighting games and who just wanted to button-mash in offline mode hated the game. Did Bandai say "we'll fix it"? They went quiet. The only thing I heard about JF after its release (it has been, what, two months by now?) that they'll make a DLC and that they plan to fix loading times and allow to skip cut-scenes.
What happened was simple: Spike Chunsoft were forced to spend all their budget on flashy images and 3D, constantly reworking it because the style Bandai wanted just doesn't fit these characters. As a result, no effort was put into gameplay and it's not as fun to play as, say, One Piece Burning Blood.

The funnies thing is that now Bandai seems to understand that people don't like this and they try to make their own copy-paste of Koei Tecmo work, for example. With that Tokyo Ghoul adaptation and Fate games. But nobody really cares because we all understand that they can't make KT games without KT. There's a lot more to Warriors than just "button-mashing".
I see. Then it was unfortunate that there will be no kind of good anime games that I like; let's say... adaptation of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations series. Shinobi Striker is an MMORPG, but people said that they're complaining about server lags or something.

I don't think I'll be seeing new games that has Naruto or Boruto in it in the next few decades or longer - and a side note, I don't like Jump Force at all. I'd stick to UNS4 with Road to Boruto DLC as of now.

Blocked.

Shinobi Striker is not an MMORPG. It's a team based competitive game based on objectives, much like Overwatch. I wouldn't say the server lags. There's just not enough people so you get matched with users all around the world, which inevitably will have a ton of lag since they can be in the other extreme of the planet.

Oh, I thought it was an MMORPG all along. My bad. But... really? They complain the lag because of users connected all around the world and play together?

Much more like AC7 Multiplayer but worse. I'm sure a lot of "toxic" discussions will be there, just like GTA V and other games with mixed reviews.

I mean, it is a problem. Connectivity from say Europe to South America is impossible to handle. But the game doesn't ever tell you the region, so most people probably don't know that's the case and just assume that the game doesn't work correctly. I, however, got added by some players most of which turned out to be south american. The lag is indeed huge, it's just not a fault of the game itself but rather the playerbase being too spread out.
It's a shame because the game itself is not bad. I really like how they designed the movement mechanics and how the game looks. But on occasion it is down right unplayable because of the internet lag.

Never be "well played", isn't it? I get it.

If you maybe familiar with the Ace Combat Assault Horizon (multiplayer ones), I encountered a situation where all planes became static targets, no matter how good or bad your ping is. It's probably something with servers. I can't argue more and I just live with it, because it's an old game.

Don't ask about how I want to say about Shinobi Striker game. I'm gonna swear something but I don't wanna say it here (better off playing CS:GO offline or online with friends instead).

I know, but it's made by the same developer too, Bandai Namco. What I do not understand is, that Bandai uses the Unreal Engine by Epic instead of the house engine of... whatever that is. Take a look on the Shinobi Striker, for example.

Don't get me wrong, though, I did saw someone talking about Jump Force here, but as soon as I saw one on YouTube, it's too photorealistic like Ace Combat 7 that it uses the real-life place of setting. Not even look like an anime or such.

I prefer my own fan fiction that combines one anime with real life, not too many like Jump Force. I guess no one cares, huh?

In a likelihood, Boruto games will never exists :r6atk:, but let's see...

IIRC the wording a while back was something like "ultimate ninja storm 4 will be the last NARUTO storm game", so there is always the possibility (albeit seemingly slim) that there will be Boruto games which follow the same style of gameplay. To be fair though if the quality difference is anything like the one between the actual series then it may not be worth buying anyway. Boruto is much too preachy and childish so far imo.

No comment. But I hope it will be; only Bandai Namco knows.

And yeah, the series is quite "a bit" childish, IMO, just like the good old days. Can't miss the fun in there, though.:steamhappy:

The good old days? by like episode 20 in Naruto Haku committed suicide and Zabuza was slitting throats lmao. it took Boruto 70 episodes just to get over his daddy issues

LOL

Yeah, ik. This is the 21st century, that's why. Story's getting weirder but unique. And today I'm sitting on my PC, watching mostly fillers in that series while... "oh boy, I got a good inspiration of my new fan fiction short story that is better than this s***."

Too much watching movies and playing video games have inspired me random imaginations, helping me create a new short story. Fillers could be a good explanation of time skip. I can slip a fictional story between one season after another.

You don't wanna know the rest of it.
