File settings (config.ini) corrupted by Steam

Hi everyone,

I have a serious problem with the game Naruto : Ultimate ninja Storm 4 on my PC.
Indeed: The last time I used the checking files integrity tool of this game from Steam settings, it noticed me that 1 file is corrupted so it will be replaced (downloaded) by a new one so I run the game again and I had to change game settings (framerate, fullscreen, SMAA etc ...) and I played.

But when I checked once again the file's integrity on Steam, it told me that 1 file is corrupted, I was wondering what the hell is going on. So i browsed the directory's game and checked what file is corrupted, nothing.

I runned the game again, changed game setting again and just shutdown it. Then I checked the file's integrity on Steam and 1 file is corrupted, here we go again.

Until I finally found out: this file -> config.ini doesn't properly work, when I changed one setting on this file manually with notepad++ and check file's integrity on Steam => 1 file is corrupted and it was config.ini that is corrupted so everything is reset for that reason.

Conclusion: whatever I change on this file (in game or with notepad++), Steam detect that it's corrupted and it has to be replaced by a new one.

Sorry if it's too long to read and understand my issue on this game but it's very important because It's been more than 1 year I have this problem and I have still no idea what can I do to resolve it.

So do you have an idea? what's the solution, please?



NOTE: I precise that Naruto Storm 2 and 3 are concerned about this issue.

this file is "corrupted" just because you edited it (so it's not default anymore)

solution: just don't check files' integrity

Again, When I change setting on game (when it's running) : framerate or shadow quality for example or when I change these settings manually with notepad++ (config.ini), Steam detects alaways 1 file is corrupted and this is config.ini, once the file's integrity checking is finished, every settings is reset. So when I run the game again: it displays in windowded mode (not fullscreen), 30 fps, vsync off etc ....

Whatever I do on game setting, everythig is reset by Steam because of config.ini which is always corrupted and I don't understand why.

The problem is that I have some crash at any moment, especially when I play online (no crash offline, however).

Again, it's exactly because you change settings. It's not a problem at all, just a small inconvenience. Don't pay attention to it. Or you'll be in loop forever

The thing is your crashes are not because one custom settings file is not as Steam "requires". It's something else (internet / your pc / your settings...)

Okay, Then I'll make sure that I change game settings once and for all, and forget the problem after that. Thank you for your help.

I have another issue, however. When the game is launched in fullscreen, the cursor of my mouse is blocked at screen and I have to exit from the game and go back to the game every time.

How can I resolve it, please?
