It displays black borders at both sides, even after using this in config.ini:
width=2560
height=1080
aspectx=21
aspecty=9
According to pcgamingwiki (https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Naruto_Shippuden:_Ultimate_Ninja_Storm_4), it's unknown. You can test it too with custom resolutions like I did, but most likely it won't work.
I don't know if cheatengine or similar tools can force it, though.
Will you get some glitches? Maybe so. But it's not like the game's completely unenjoyable with the sparse amount of glitches when setting a custom res.
CheatEngine and other similar tools are a terrible way to force resolutions on games like these because there are just easier and more proper methods to do it in without hardcoding it in every time you launch the game.
So TL;DR for the author: There's a config file that lets you set the resolution (Assuming it's not in the settings already).
I don't mean the resolution (which the game accepts), but the aspect ratio of the game inside of it. Using 2560x1080 is effectively the same as 1920x1080, but with black borders at the sides.
FUN FACT: 21:9 SUPPORT WAS REMOVED... WITH ROAD TO BORUTO, and editing the EXE does NOTHING .
OP: Set your display choices to GPU and to full screen, +Override any display setting, you have to run either 2560x1440 or just any 16:9 Res at this point, now bc It's not even our native aspect, It's going to look pulled left and right, it does not look that bad, but the detail is compressed for clear-cut reasons, this where reshade comes in, trade MSAA horsepower for loads of colour and sharpness effects... 21:9 is pretty much back.
Post-launch, they added resolution support for downscaling so it stretched the game. Hence, that's why I came to the conclusion I did. It's not "trolling" or "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around".
So instead of being a stupid little prick to people, how about you swallow your pride and anger and don't post about things when you have NO CLUE what you're talking about.
Okay, how does that effect the here and now? we know the same thing then, bc I remember playing the game in 21:9 perfectly one time and nah, I just came into this thread and saw the other replies, you however came to me, now I'm not gonna sit here and ♥♥♥♥♥ over this and that, for the sole fact that I'm trying to make a reshade profile that makes 2560x1440 PULLED look better on my screen, I suggest the OP does the same, bc there is no way to play this game in 21:9, I tried even as far as Hex Editing the exe.

By saying "PULLED" you already demonstrate how stupid and uninformed you are about it. It's called stretched. There is literally NOBODY in the tech industry that uses "pulled" instead of "stretched".
And yet you're doing it on stretched resolution. And by the way, asking someone to sift through large technical details without helping them on how to do it? Really? You must be such a hero for being the most unhelpful person here.
And here's another reason why you're stupid. You can't just hex edit the EXE to change resolution. It pulls that info from config.ini (Which by the way, DOES have aspect ratio settings in it) and then applies those settings.
