Stellar Blade™

Stellar Blade™

Are the Recommended Settings Wrong❓
The store page lists that for 1440p, medium preset at 60FPS you need:

Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-8400 Processor
I have i5-9600

Memory: 16 GB RAM
I have 32 GB RAM

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER
I have RTX 2070

Note that Stellar Blade's recommended settings are similar to God of War: Ragnarok which I can run at high preset, 1440p, 60FPS.

However the demo lags like a modern online game running on a 90's modem even when I change the preset to low and the anti-aliasing to High-Performance.

What could be the problem if the recommended settings aren't wrong?

nope. the settings are not wrong. i have a 1080ti and a i7 7700k 32gb, and get silky smooth performance at 4K medium default.
Hm.

First of all, verify the game cache just in case.

Empty spot on desktop>monitor settings>graphical settings>search for the game.exe and force"high performance".

Turn off third-party programs like OneDrive while playing.

For some ppl settings Nvidia control center shader cache size to 10GB helps with some games.
Restart PC.

Hope it helps.

Probably driver issues. Most Nvidia drivers in 2025 is trash. I have a 2080 Super, DLSS Quality (Game doesn't look bad and my GPU doesn't burn my house), high settings, Dec.2024 driver. Over 100 fps on 1080p. I believe a 2070 could run 60 fps on 1440p with respectable settings.

Another thing I noticed is when adjusting settings, the supposed VRAM consumption is over 8gb, when in the actual game it hovers at 5gb.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Like it was mentioned before this must be a driver issue. I have the latest NVidia driver (576.52) so keep that in mind if you have the same issue. I will wait until hopefully NVidia fixes it by launch or else I will have to download an old driver.

My Nvidia drivers are up to date, and my frames are smooth. So it's not a foregone conclusion that it's a driver thing.

Either the gaming Gods have forsaken me or the problem will fix itself after a patch or two.

you might wanna check if your windows defender isnt acting up aswel.
make sure controlled file access isnt blocking stellarblade.exe
check vram ussage in the game settings, i have a 3080 10gb, and had stutters on the default settings on 1440p.
CPU is a 7800X3D so thats fast enough with 32gb of 6000Mhz ram

Went from 100 fps to 8 for some seconds, then i found out that the default settings (very high) use around 12gb of vram.
Reduced textures to medium solved my issue.

im using a 3080 10gb and ive capped my frame rate at 60 (playing on a 65" tv and thats my max refresh rate) the game defaulted to max settings at 4k and even though the vram is over my cards max it runs very smoothly with only slight slowdown when saving at the checkpoints which is fine anyways as it doesnt effect any combat sections and lasts for possibly a second if it even happens at all..
