Does the combat lack weight and impact to anyone else?

Compared to the other action games I played the combat doesn't have any impact, I kept making sure I was close to the enemy to hit them and it felt like I was just slashing at them the entire time. It just didn't feel right but I think it's because of the placement of the camera, I don't know and was wondering if anybody else felt the same way.

You and a few others I'd imagine, it takes time to get used to but think of it as more like DMC or Nier hack 'n' slash as opposed to Souls.

You're in the minority. Beat the demo and once you unlock the new mode in the demo, try to take out that stalker boss. Then let us know if you feel the same way.

Update - oh, and adjust your gear to your liking against stalker. I prefer more attack speed.

5 full playthroughs on PS5, no, the combat feels fantastic. In terns of weight it feels the same as Sekiro. Only Khazan feels weightier than these two.

The game is basically made for dualsense haptic feedback, and some of the most impactful sword slicing feel since Ninja Gaiden Black seriously. Very crunchy 🤪

Very true. They put a lot of work into the Dual Sense. It even works with rain drops or when water drops on top of you. When you grind or walk up stairs, and of course during combat. Dual Sense is far superior than your normal Xbox rumble that just spins.

I also love how the triggers may become harder to press depending on the situation (especially fishing). It adds a heavy feel to it (of course you can turn this off if you want).
