They were looking for a publisher anyway at the beginning, preferably a global one. Stellar Blade in its infant stage needed more funding. Look at movies and how they are released in theaters. No different from games overall.

Sony's games are among the best, Horizon and Last of Us already make me wanna buy a PS5 pro. You're lucky their exclusives are finally available on pc so you don't have to buy the console at all

Not true. Development with Stellar Blade began in 2019 as Project Eve and Nikke didn't get released until November 4th, 2022. And In 2021 the game got announced as a PS5 exclusive. So they did need the funding at the time.

Hard to believe that PlayStation used to be a beloved brand in the game industry during PS1 and PS2 era, now it's the dumpster that almost everyone beside their fanboys hates. And it's all self-inflicted.

Bribing third party studios to lock games away from PC for starters. You aren't making any PC gamers running to a store to buy a PS5 just to play these games. You just make these people hate your brand instead. And yes, you're doing that while you still publish games on PC and you need us PC gamers to like your brand and buy your products. Insane.
