Stellar Blade™

People talking about Eve's appearance overshadowed everything else the game had to offer.
To me, this feels like this might be the biggest reason why many (and ngl..me included) have avoided this game ever since it released and why it's getting labeled as gooner-bait (or perverted). I've seen so many people talk about NSFW mods or how hot Eve is 90% of the time where I don't even know if this is a porn game or an action game. This isn't me trying to label gamers (because I'm a gamer myself) as touched starved horny nerds or trying to start a fight...it just seems like all people talk about is Eve, Eve, Eve, and Eve. Is this game actually good or are people just praising it because of some hot robot lady?

I genuinely really liked this game on PS5, so much so that I've preordered on steam for the almost sole purpose of adding to the stats that determine whether they make a sequel.

The story, in my opinion, is pretty good, but told badly (it is also known to be a very unapologetic rip of Nier, but I never played that game so this was fresh to me). Story problems feel like a translation issue more than anything else.

Combat is very good/clean and is the main draw of the game imo, except for the soundtrack, which is wall to wall bangers.

I do recommend this game but I have to be honest and say that I don't know how much of the draw is subconsciously the character model, despite me feeling like it isn't.

I don't have a PS5, so I haven't been able to get it, but now that it is coming for PC I will.

I find it refreshing to have an super attractive female in a game (one that is based on a real woman. Eve's look is based on a korean model, there are articles and images of the studio scanning her body and everything).

Besides all that, the gameplay has been said to be a lot of fun and visually it looks amazing.

This game has the same player rating on Metacritic and PSN as The Witcher 3 and Baldur's Gate 3. Do you really think you can get such a rating just for a nice butt?

It didn't have to be this way but the attacks on the creation of this game let it to be a corner stone for it's for us and we don't care for you don't like it. eve was attacked. the game play was attacked. the actual model of the game was criticized for her looks. it came came this as a response to all that. ignore if all and enjoy the game.
Because it worked as a marketing tactic. Look at Nier Automata. It had all the fanservice or whatever you want, but behind it was one of the best games to release in the last decade.
It's your problem entirely that you didn't bother checking some gameplay out, or watching a summary from someone you like watching (if you do that).
I only tried the demo on a PS5 at a friend's place, (was going to buy it on PC) and I absolutely loved the atmosphere, thought the music was great and thought the combat felt really cool and flashy and decently satisfying. It didn't feel particularly hard, but not every game needs to be that hard to be really enjoyable.
If you like character action games, I think you will like this. If the fanservice stuff is annoying to you (I don't particularly care for it usually), you can use costumes that aren't fanservice-y.
What happened to our society that now having a "hot female character" is the same as "porn" ?
There is a outfit that you can wear; a teddy bear outfit if you are allergic to anything sexy.
