Thank piracy for denuvo
Let's face it. If it wasn't for piracy denuvo wouldn't have been necessary. Wanna be pissed off at someone be pissed at those who illegally crack and pirate games, don't blame the devs for trying to protect themselves from theft. Personally I couldn't care less.

Edit: Some people don't understand the difference between fighting theft and protecting/increasing sales. Denuvo is not always used to increase profit but to fight the whole scene of people thinking they can crack, distribute and steal other people's intellectual property.

Sales would've been fine either way, with or without denuvo. This is more about a giving a big f-u to all pirates.

Denuvo also forces online connections every so often and if you can't open the game online then, you're locked. Have you ever played a Denuvo game on Steam Deck or ROG Ally? That is very annoying.

If the devs really wanted to protect the game then they wouldn't have put it on Epic pirates love when a denuvo game goes on Epic.

O it's you Richieツ.

So you would have to be on wifi or just connect your steam deck to your phone's hotspot when starting a game? I guess in some extreme cases that won't be possible which does indeed sound annoying.

Hello there. Yes I think we already established in the other thread that offline activation isn't anywhere near as hassle-free as torrenting a cracked version of the game.
Good games don't need protecting. Just look at Clair Obscur and how well it did without incorporating Denuvo. The piracy argument is just an excuse by devs who don't believe in their game.

Not only when starting. It checks periodically. You basically need a constant internet connection. When people complain about singleplayer games needing an online connection, a lot of the times it's because of Denuvo.

Interesting. Is this a thing on hand helds only? Been playing Wukong with my internet turned off on my PC several times and had no issues. Seems like something they could fix.
Point is, Denuvo locks out no one. Everyone with a minimal knowledge can just bypass it.
And it's quite heavy on your system as well.

So far if a Denuvo game only launches on steam there is no bypass even offline activation doesn't work currently Pirates still haven't found a way past steam only denuvo game's.

But other 3rd party launhers like Ea/ Oragin & Epic yep Pirates have workaround for thoses.

What do you have to say to: Expedition 33, Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Elder Scrolls, Elden Ring, Tekken, Space Marine 2, A Plague Tale, and many more. A good game will sell no matter what and a bad game will not no matter what, end of story. This DRM BS never worked and never will.

Sometimes it's not only about protecting sales, but your ip and not allowing people to just take whatever they want. Stellar Blade is an amazing game, already played it on PS5 and it was a huge success in sales and will be again! ;)

Piracy was a thing well before denuvo came out.
Weird logic. Denuvo doesn’t even stop piracy. It’s a pointless move that punishes paying customers. So when a developer or publisher forces this kind of DRM, you have every right to call them out for it. It makes your experience worse, all while expecting you to pay full price.

Denuvo has probably turned more people toward piracy than it has prevented
the devs well cry because it well sell like #hit
DENUVO is sucks
