DirectX9 GPU (Shader Model 2.0) required for MyDream
I need help with this. I downloaded Stream. I paid for MyDream and downloaded it. It wont let me play and I get this error:

DirectX9 GPU (Shader Model 2.0) is required.
Your GPU (Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller)
only supports Shader Model 0.0

I went online and tried to download the correct directx. During installations it says:
"DirectX setup has determined that a newer or equivalent version of DirectX has been installed already. No installation is necessary."

I have Windows XP.

Please help. Confused.

Thanks for posting funkidsgames!
You are correct Talathel, cheers!

We appreciate your purchase of MyDream! We plan support lower-end rigs after full release but during alpha we highly recommend only playing on systems above our hardware requirements. Here are those recommended minimum requirements: http://mydreaminteractive.com/support#specs

I've seen the same issue in a couple other forums related to your situation. here is some more detailed information, if you're interested, that may help you out.

Looking around for Pixel Shader 2.0 support on the Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller online. I've read some posts that are a couple years old. In Intel and Unity's forums they say there is no Pixel Shader 2.0 support, and this is an Intel chipset that is no longer supported (in other words, it is old).

You have two options:

1) There is a slight chance this will help. Try upgrading your graphics controller (don't forget to back-up or have ready your current graphics controller software).
- go to http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/graphics/intel845g
- Install latest drivers from this link, restart the PC and try again.

If the above doesn't work

2) Upgrade your hardware.
There may not be a need for a new computer. Determine if you're able to upgrade your computer with a graphic card. Is there an available slot for a PCI express graphic card? If so, you might want to go down this route and spend a few dollars for an old graphics card. Be sure that the rest of your specs match our hardware requirements as well.

If you're able to complete step two or upgrade then we will be happy to have you crafting your dream worlds with us soon! We want you to enjoy, play and test out our basic systems! If you choose to keep your computer as is, don't worry. We'll keep record of your purchase and it will still be there for you until you are able to upgrade or we are able to lower our minimums.

Should none of this advice help feel free to email us at support@mydreaminteractive.com and we will continue to assist you.

- Cheers!

I have a laptop with Win 7 64bit, 8 gig, an i7 chip, and nVidia GTS 360 video card and it is way too old/slow to run this game. Framerate is very low.
