That was constructive.
I mean, at least for non idiotic people.
1. Play the game the normal way and farm to unlock everything, that add more time needed to complete the game (virtualy yes but better than everything unlock in 2 hours then nothing new to unlock and play with after)
2. You remember we play on PC where it's easy to cheat and use Cheat engine to modify your amount of money and buy everything in few minutes.
I will choose the first option but feel free to choose the second if you really want everything unlock from the start ;)
As a hardcore Saint Seiya fan, even before most of you were even born I'm sure, I love the game and keep on playing it, even if I find it annoying and repetitive doing the exact same thing I did in the previous game.
So dude, if not playing a game becuase it's repetitive, annoying and such is your mentality, then gods only know how many good games you've missed. It's pittiful, dude.
...dude...
Hey, thanks for the Thanatos info!
Well, it's more sad than hilarious. I bet they came from a place that didn't teach one to respect the opinions of others regardless whether you agreed with them or otherwise.
I got to say I was really surprised with the amount of variations they've added to Gold Saints. All of them have a No Helmet version, and for those who didn't have a helmet in the previous game, they do now (Like Shaka, Saga, Mu and a couple others). This helps make fights much more accurate to the show. They also have their Surplice version as well, if applicable. No duplicate characters now since you can choose your BBA. Shura has his OCE design, as well as Shion his Gold Aries Cloth wich is unlocked for free.
Bronze Saints also have a No Helmet version with their new armors, plus the plain clothes, OCE versions and Golden New armor. All Bronze Saints have their God Armor as well with unique (and very amazing) BBA's.
Arenas are also unlockable, plus the Assist Phrases, which are items to customize your characters.
God Gold Saints are also unlockable, but much more easier and fun than unlocking their Plain Clothes or Helmet variations. the rest of characters unlock as you progress on the story.
The only catch is that most of these costumes need to be purchased after unlocking them, and they are VERY expensive; up to 20,000 for No Helmets, Plain Clothes or Training Outfits. God Cloths go up to 50,000 for four of the Bronze Saints; Seiya's is free. Same with the Gold Bronze armors.
Cheapest things are the Arenas.
So there you are. There is a lot to unlock, but really not that difficult as I thought. I only have two more God Cloths to buy for the Bronze Saints and that's it.
However, they should implement a system where one can choose a / some characters from the get-go - e.g., through in-game currency - so that people aren't stuck with characters they don't necessarily like to use and thus are forced to grind for hours to get access to them (*referring to games with multiple characters, like fighters etc).
The J-Star Vs game had this -- start with a little in-game currency so the player could unlock (IIRC) two characters to fool around with from the outset. The rest had to be ground out. This actually allowed one to try the roster out (by buying a character > not saving > restarting > buying another), play the versus mode/s with who they liked and grinding was done when the player was good and ready to do so.
I would never endorse pay-to-unlock in-game content models -- that's blatant racketeering. But having so many characters locked in a fighting game is too restrictive and can serve to diminish the enjoyment of the product for many people.
(BTW, does anyone know of an 'unlocker' save file is available for this game yet...?)
*proceeds to complain about how Call of Duty DLCs are overpriced, with credit card in hand*
Gamers today are a joke.
It's not absurd because you need to play the game.
It's absurd you need to start with too few playables that restricts your enjoyment.
But the grind doesn't turn out to be bad.
Gamers have been abused so much and thus brainwashed to think abuse is the way to enjoy a game.
Look at Assetto Corsa or Project Cars, no unlockables.
What do gamers want next? How about virtual cap on availability of digital game copies?
Game x: 1,000 copies left
Game y: sold out
Game z; 11,000 copies left
You don't really have a choice in relation to the campaign on who you actually use so what's the problem?
Just play the game and unlock the characters. I really don't see the problem here.
Yeah It'not as bad as thought it would be. I have yet to unlock too many characters in Xenoverse but Saint Seiya is easy in comparison.
I agree. It wasn't too difficult. Finishing story mode doesn't take too long and it's all you need to get all the characters. Unlocking all the costumes is a bit more time-consuming, though.
Yeah but if you like Saint Seiya and spend some time playing every couple days it's still manageable.
The upgrade slot is going to take the most ridiculous amount of time if you intend to upgrade every single playable in the game. 80,000 per one upgrade slot per each playable.
But it is intended for players to select one or a few of playables to be their main assist phrase mode playable(s). It's not meant to be unlocked for all heroes.
