As for difficulty, that depends on what you mean. There aren't any fancy combos that you need to imput like Tekken, but every button and trigger on the controller does something different, often in combination with other buttons, so there are a lot of options to keep track of during battle. The AI seems more than happy to make you use all of those options or get your butt handed to you, as well.
It's funny, I can't really say how difficult the game is. Playing through the Sanctuary story I had one opponent halfway through that took FOREVER to beat, but I finished one of the rounds on the final boss with a perfect. I think it has a lot to do with who you're fighting with who, and how easily you get rattled. You have to move and dodge a lot more than any other fighting game I've ever played, so you have to keep your wits.
Hope that kind of answers your question. What were you hoping for, hard or easy? ^_^
You answered it perfectly! I know exactly what you meant. :)
Thanks a lot for your help!
I got the game and I'm trying it right now. It's pretty fun, so far!
I never rely on spamming the same thing. It's a very cheap and honorless strategy. I always mix the attacks.
It makes everything more fun, and less annoying.
Most games are a lot more fun when you don't go out of your way to make them less fun.
One thing that will help alot is knowing that pushing RB when you get hit will allow you to escape an enemy combo. Once you start doing this then you can win easily so long as you can keep your Cosmo Meter up enough to escape should you get attacked.
As for multiplayer this game seems like the meta would be sooo broken at a high level. I shudder to think how hard it would be to fight someone very familiar with the game and their characters of choice.
Then I began to use "Cosmo dash" (dont remember the exact name of it).. .Then I think I may have lost 2 fight in the entire game...
Spam "rush -> combo -> charge -> rush .etc.." works, but I'm like you I prefer varying And still It's pretty doable
To make it short: Best advice to get at start: Use the rush!
Funny thing is, I didn't even discover the two attack rushes until I was halfway through the Sanctuary campaign! I did it by accident and was HOLY CRAP! ^_^
After unlocking all God Cloth Gold Saints, in the God Cloth mode, you unlock the "other side of the coin" where your opponents get progressively more difficult, with a lot of Assist Phrases. I thought a spammy Hades with about 5 or 6 assist phrases, and I defeated him with only about 30% of my health left.
Edit: I've done a playthrough including the fights, you can see it all here. You can ignore the interlude scenes and the language:

I haven't uploaded Hades arc because there's no interest from people in watching, but it was also easy.
For me: quite hard (explored every chars and modes)
For my wife: 90's doom like ultra violence even in the tutorial with marim. (she's super casual) but she finished the tutorial, so i'm still married.
Or jump back and shoot a photon attack, or one of the two special attacks. Depending on the character, for example Hilda, Camus, Shaka, Mime, Kanon or Saga, I like to mix up and do the special that revolves around them. If the opponent rushes, they get struck by it.
The rush attack depends on the character speed. Fenrir or Shina (Shaina in English?) are excellent and supremely quick. Seiya is a great example of someone who isn't the fastest and will get beaten.
So... As far as I can tell you can only fight the computer in the Legend of Cosmo and Soul of Gold Modes. NEITHER of these modes seem to be lower the difficulty when switching to easy and lower the COM player HP to 25% does not seem to have an effect either. So my question, is, what exactly does changing the difficulty do?
I'm getting my ♥♥♥ handed to me and I really want to play this game but I can't seem to find a way to do that....
