I don't know what to expect from the Game...
With a release scheduled for Monday 23rd of March, you can already play the non-steamed version by downloading it from www.walkover.org

In Walkover you can expect the following right now:

- Retro Graphics (we are coders, no artists. Maybe the images will be updated some day, but we can't guarantee this)

- Fast netcode, which allows you to play with many other players around the world against hundreds or even thousands of aliens at the same time

- Swarm Intelligence for the Bugs. Each kind of Enemy acts differently and the bug masses act like a swarm.

- Different weapons which help you to master different situations? (Is it currently better to go for splash damage to take out huge groups of enemies, or shall you better aim for a powerful single shot to take our individuals?)

- A total of 83 Maps at initial release. The game comes bundled with a simple Map editor which allows the community to create new Maps on their own and if they are great, we love to bundle them with the base game.

Anything else that is not yet in the game but planned?

Walkover is in development for already 14 years and has been extended and tweaked all the time. A release on Steam is no end for us, it is just a way to extend the community and get more ideas on how to make the game even more fun.

@Dev's

Why not add steam workshop support for maps instead? Or wouldn't it be possible to download the map fromt he host like GMOD does.

We thought about the solution using steam workshop, but we do still offer the steam-less version of Walkover on our website. As both are 100% compatible to each other right now, workshop is not really suitable.

We are alreading thinking about a couple of solutions and will hopefully find a fix for this soonish. ;)

Im coming back to this game over and over again for around 10 Years already, and I´m glad to see it on Steam, hoping this will get some more players together.
Can we expect something new to the game soon?
The last big addition I can remember was the buildable turrets and teleporters.
I personally would like to see some kind of controllable vehicles.

Welcome back. We worked on a a lot of bits and peaces lately. I'm not sure you will notice this at all, but under the hood much has been improved :)

Thank you, we are quite proud about Walkover, but as some players might have just found out, our dedicated servers did not really survived the initial launch (not a good idea that all joined only the 1 server and no one one of the other 3) :)
