SAMURAI WARRIORS 4-II

Steam Cloud needed...
Multiple times i've been playing these games on PC, then change hard drives/reformat my C drive and discover my save games are gone...

It's really sad, has happened to DW8, SW4-2 and OP pirate warriors :(

Don't change hard drives and reformat your C drive? Kind of unusual behavior if you are doing that so much anyway. It could be something KOEI supports with future games, but not going to happen with anything already released. We just finally got online coop with SW4-II, so KOEI seems to be taking small steps to fully support the PC port.

Steam cloud is pretty common nowadays and i don't imagine it's hard to implement in future games.

As for why i change C drives often/reformat it doesn't really matter (My C drive is basically my junk folder, some tiny SSD), at least they could store the save file within the game folder.

Only a few years back we weren't getting any KOEI games on PC at all. It might be common for most Steam games, but like most Japanese publishers, KOEI is slow to make the jump to PC.

You could always move your save file to the game folder? You are more than able to copy it somewhere else.

Im just letting them know (if they even read this) that it would help, and requires little on their part.
I love KOEI games an am extremely happy they are on PC - however i'm not going to just twiddle my thumbs if there is an issue (not matter how minor), a company can't improve if no one tells them what's wrong. So as much as you are trying defend them, there is nothing wrong with them knowing that some people( even if it's just me) would love steam cloud, i also have many PC's in many places (i travel a lot).

You would be suprised how annoying it is having to constantly move saves from one folder to another, not knowing where a game saves itself, transferring the save to all 5 of my PC's - some of where are in different countries...
So no, i am not more than able to do it, there is the limitation of me not being able to teleport across continents.

Feel free to keep trying to make the fact that steam cloud would make KOEI games slightly better from being a perfectly sane and fine idea.

Except, they're apparantly dropping support for SW 4 Empires on the PC platform entirely.
Food for thought, that.

I'm not defending their ineptitude and slow crawl towards PC. I'm merely explaining that you should be surprised you are getting this much from a Japanese developer/publisher. Go back two years and there weren't any KOEI games on Steam. Since then, we've had quite a few in a short amount of time.

I'm not against cloud saves. I'm all for the idea. I'm just merely suggesting to you KOEI's history on the platform and that it probably will come... eventually. Again, it might be a pain in the neck and you may travel, but I'm sure you have a flash drive/thumb drive on hand that you could easily store your save on. Cloud saving is a luxury. By no means is it necessary.

I wasn't even aware we had any confirmation KOEI was working on a PC port for SW4E. Considering DW8E did terrible on Steam, I can't say I'm entirely surprised. Either way, one spin-off of the SW series not coming to PC hardly stops the obvious momentum KOEI has been pushin on the platform. We'll see ultimately if SW4E makes its way here or not, as SW4-II has done fairly well.

I'm well aware KOEI only recently started to bring games to PC but it's no reason for me not to say steam cloud would be helpful, i have over 800 just on steam and i am for sure not going to transfer every single save file to a usb, then onto all the different computers.
I'm human and sometimes i forget, it so happened i forgot this time and i lost my saves.

I really don't need you to explain KOEI and their ports, i've been playing their games for as long as i can remember (Dynasty warriors 2).

We could of both saved a lot of typing if you simply said "Yeah that would be cool but they should prioritise other things first".

I'm just saying it will probably come in time. KOEI doesn't read Steam forums so voicing your critiques here does little to improve future development. You are better off trying to go to their official website and voicing your concerns there.

I've been playing these games as far back as DW2 as well. Since I never owned a PS3 or PS4 and am largely bound to PC now, it's nice to have access to what is one of my favorite game franchises. I'm just glad we get any Warriors games.

I found a good workaround for games that don't have Steam cloud implemented http://lifehacker.com/how-to-sync-your-saved-pc-games-between-computers-with-1501078690

No prob. I actually find this method very useful and I prefer it over Steam cloud, since I use Google Drive quite extensively.
