Bug in the frames (maybe)
Last patch brought the frames and I'm playing right now but there seems to be a problem. I have both blue and dotted frames unlocked and yet one of my elements which has solid white border doesn't have any pair. If I understand the frames correctly - blue means that the element wouldn't have any pair in this episode (so it's like permanent dotted frame) and dotted frame means that this element has no pair right now (but will have once a pairing element is unlocked). So that should mean that when I have an element with solid white border it has to have a pair which has also a solid white border but in my case this doesn't work.

Is it a bug or is my understanding incorrect?
Thanks!

It's hard to understand by your description. Please post screenshot and point, which element has incorrect frame.

I think screenshot wouldn't help. There are more elements like this, for example Domestic animal (cow). It has a solid white frame but there isn't any combination I can do with it. So it should have dotted or blue frame.

So if you think it helps - here is a screenshot:

As you can see the Egg has solid white border but when I tried to combine it with every other element nothing worked (nothing new was created). So the Egg's frame is wrong, it should be dotted or blue.

And the Egg or Domestic animal are just an examples. I have the same problem with many other elements. Even the help says it explicitly - white frame means "ready to react" yet no reaction exists.

Need some time to check properly. We'll look.

Thank you. If you'll need more examples or any other information I'll be glad to help.

White border means "final for curret episode" (click on the frame at the top of the screen and you'll see what it means). So in your example with egg - frame works right. Solid borded means - there's no reactions in this episode.

What are you talking about? Blue border means final for current episode. Not white.

There are only three types of borders. Solid white is default and you can unlock solid blue and dotted white.

So I explain it again:
- I have unlocked both solid blue and dotted white frames (borders).
- According to the game help and descriptions solid blue frame means that the element is final for current episode (which means that there will be no more combinations using this element).
- Dotted white frame means that the element has no pair right now (which means that there is no combination using this element right now but there will be when I unlock more elements).
- If solid blue and dotted white frames mark ALL elements which don't have pairs right now that means that all other elements MUST have a pair right now.
- Since all other elements have solid white border that means that every element with solid white frame must have at least one new pair (or it can be paired with itself).
- BUT this is where the problem is - there are many elements with solid white frame which don't have any pair. I've tried to combine them with every element (even with elements with solid blue and dotted white frames) and there wasn't any reaction.
- This means that some of the solid white frames should be in fact dotted white or solid blue. Which means that the frame system is bugged and that not all elements are marked as they should be.

Ok. Situation a bit more complicated:
There is reactions for egg. But - these reactions do not create new elements. So it's not working, because of "no repeated reactions" frame disable it.

Well that's true and looks like this is how it works. Now it makes sense. But I think this is rather unintuitive since one would expect that the blue or dotted borders mean that there is no NEW combination and solid white means that there is at least one NEW combination.

So that's my suggestion for future update - special borders should mark ALL elements that don't have any NEW pair not just the ones that don't havy any pair at all. And thanks for the explanation, I understand how it works now.

You're right. Frames was not supposed to work all at once for a long periods of time.
