How to access historical street view?

Does Google Earth VR allow you to change the date/year of the street view? For example, if I want to see what my street looked like back in 2000, how would I go about doing it in Google Earth VR? Thanks!

I too would like the ability to view the history of images within street view
And also to see borders that you can change the history and select different years with a timeline. Then you could see how borders change.

There was no google street view then, so you can't. Street view was released in 2007 with only five major cities.

Google Earth the desktop app has this feature, but as others have said it wold not go back very far in most places, and Google is especially spotty at covering dense rural areas if that is where you are from. It would not go back to 2000. 360 degree photography was just not advanced enough yet to strap one on a car and have it take photos nor did most people have the bandwidth to look at such content. It is a shame that Google doesn't have this basic feature in the VR version seeing as they still support it otherwise.

yes the korean world famous street view (kakao maps ) have the history for around 10-20yrs and they update 6month to 1 yrs , but fear north korea attack some of the building was blur and disappear , I just a K pop fans boy and PSY music Kannam style to found the real firming location

the google earth Virtual viritilay apps dont support history or Recording yet or steam via Twitch or YT gaming , easy to crash and we suggest texting in steamOS /steam desk / Ubuntu and newest MacOS and the Xbox / playstation console ,

I know this is like 3 years old now (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2021 was 3 years ago) but have they added this? I'd love to be in my home town's 2008 version and I'm tired of being limited to google maps for it

Is this not just another project that Google's abandoned? Wouldn't be the first time.
