Google Earth VR

Please add an option to change the Elevation Exaggeration as in the 2D version
In the 2D version of Google Earth, there is an option to change the Elevation Exaggeration (also scales 3D buidings and trees) from 0.01 - 3. The higher the value, the steeper the mountains look. Now some mountains in Google Earth VR do look "flat", and I think it will benefit from this terrain elevation settings. Also in 2D version we can select "high quality terrain", and this will be more required for VR version because realism is now much more important. I am eagerly looking forward to higher global elevation data in the future!

They look "flat" because that's how big they actually are. . . . this is a silly thing to waste time implementing. You want fake exaggeration on moutains that you feel are "too small", but then go on to talk about how realism is the most important thing.

A lot of mountains look flat in Google Earth, not because they are flat in real world, but because the DEM (Digital Elevation Model) of Google Earth is not accurate in these areas. The accuracy of DEM of Google Earth varies greatly. Europe and USA have higher resolution. The highest might be Switzerland, reaches 10m, and that is quite stunning. But outside these areas the resolution can be as low as 90m. That's the reason Google Earth has the option for people to adjust it.

Of course the best solution is to raise the global accuracy of DEM, that's what I am advocating at the end of my original post. But that needs time, and before that arrives, more user adjustment will always be fine.
