Google Earth VR

I feel the scale is smaller than the real world. Is it possible to add a world scale adjustment option?
Google Earth VR is absolutely incredible. Best VR app so far IMHO. But I feel the scale is a bit smaller than the real world. I have adjusted the IPD setting but not much use. I just wonder if the developer could add a world scale adjustment option so that it can suit more people's need and be more fun.

Already there in the settings menu. Enable human scale and then you can zoom further.

No. This is not what I mean. I mean when I zoom all the way down to the surface of the earth and look at the buildings, mountains, and landmarks, they look somewhat smaller than they should be in the real world. Of course I have enabled human scale.

Don't know what you're talking about mate. Seems perfect to me. Maybe check your height settings?

Just checked standing in front of a door in Venice. At maximum zoon the door feels about the right height.

Does SteamVR has a setting for height? I haven't found it.

Fly to Matterhorn to have look. I think it should be higher.

I tried the Uluru and Ben Nevis and they feel about right at maximum.

Try standing on top of Half Dome. On the bottome it looks more accurate, but at the top of mountains I got the feel of a giant standing in a sandbox playing models.

the problem is when you zoom out (or gain height) you dont just fly up but you are scaled up, too. meaning you becoma a giant rather than flying up.

Test it on the statue of liberty. when on ground in human mode it seems about alright (maybe ~90% scale in my opinion). but when you are face to face with the statue it seems more like a tiny figure.

i hope there will be an option to turn of scaling of you ipd when flying up..

I know what your saying. Even at human scale on top of a skyscraper I'd love to adjust the convergence to make the sense of large buildings feel enormous. Would be cool to adjust the dynamic in settings

Ah I didnt relize that. Can we have a setting for this to keep human scale all the time please

I noticed in some places (cannot remember which currently) that if I zoom to human scale, things still look a little too small - for example cars that go only to my waist or houses that are only as high as my head. Would be great if we could adjust to "sub-human scale" to adjust for that.

I agree with this as well. A very simple static slider in advanced options to go down to subhuman scale. Put a "not recommended for those prone to motion sickness" label and were good! Obviously when the scale is set to always human flying will feel much faster but roughly half of the VR USER base doesn't get sickness. I for one would love this. A lot.

I'm not so sure about that. I think the (max) flying speed is constant and it looks faster when you get higher because the world is scaled down. So setting it to always human scale would not make it faster.

To be more precise, the current mode are scaling our interpupillary distance with altitude, so the 1:1 scale is only possible when we are standing on something. If we leave the ground, it is like we are turning into a giant rather than flying, and everything immediately turns into miniature models. What we need is another mode to lock the human IPD for the scale to remain constant.
