It started when i have let enabled the usb audio device and then physically removed all audio jacks from the PC. (not kidding - disabling a device didn't help) Then it started immediatelly. It crashes often, but it is another issue and not relevant to the problem with sounbd device.
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3
Intel Core i5 4590
EVGA GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0
8GB DDR3
Win 7 Pro 64 SP1
- updated drivers (nvidia 980ti)
- updated Vive firmware
- rebooted (multiple times)
- disabled audio devices (all of them)
- unplugged all USB devices I can (I still need a keyboard and mouse)
None of this did anything. Google Earth VR still silently fails. No indication of why it's bailing, just disappears. Other VR apps work fine.
This typifies my relationship with PC gaming - nothing is ever easy and when it is it feels like a miracle. I guess in the case of Google VR we get what we paid for. Unfortunate since I've heard this app is stellar :/
tl;dr version - I eventually reinstalled my nVidia drivers but did a custom (not express) installation and checked the "perform a clean install" box. After this it magically started working.
A full list of things to try:
Other things developers have implied might affect the app (but I've seen no confirmation of):
The developers have expressed they know there are issues so keep an eye out for an update. As of Dec '16 they said 'look for an update in the coming month'.
I hope that helps.
Just seeing if there is an ETA for this fix.
Thanks.
I've tried
- -Unplugging headset
- -Unplugging every USB device except kb+m
- -Disabling all other audio devices except Vive
- -Even went to BIOS to disable my soundcards
- -Updated (and clean reinstalled) GPU drivers (970 with the latest drivers)
- -Reinstalled and repaired with the vc_redist files
- -Replugged Vive, restarted Steam, rebooted computer
And nothing helps. But seems like I have a different problem, because I can get it to start and even view the welcome tour perfectly, but outside of that no place loads. I can't take the other tours because the world is just unloaded blurry mess. I can check the places from the welcome tour but can't zoom or move outside of them.I always get this message when starting: "Loading labels failed due to an unknown error. Restart and try again." http://i.imgur.com/D56pJ0B.png I've tried googling and searching here but seems like no one else has the same problem.
From what I've read, change the sound output to the vive. Then plug in headphones using the thing that dangles off the Vive.
the app doesn't run. crashes, no error message.
Despite mu EVGA 1070 claims power 170w and my 550W power supply had more than double on both 12V lines, apparently the peaks were reseting the pc. So the trouble solved by power supply with single line 50+ Amps on 12 volts.
same here is this proble fixed??? help!
