Had this issue, I got it fixed this way:

Right click Google Earth VR -> properties
Local files tab -> browse local files
open _common_redist\vcredist\2015\ directory

Run vc_redist.x64.exe program and click repair
Do the same with the x86 program

After doing this, it ran right away for me. Win7 X64

Hi Guys. I had the same problem Google Earth VR would not start.

Tried runnning the VB Fix vc_redist.x64.exe but no use.

I am using a surround sound 5.1 stereo system

Changed my default audio device to stereo speakers instead and Viola!

Restarted Steam and all Works fine now so appears to be a Sound Card Issue

Thanks Guys awesome program

Windows 10 with GTX1070 16GB Ram

I did that right after, i changed the audio source to my htc vive and it launched perfectly, very neat software.

Hey Paskud7,

do you have surround speakers?
yes and it helped just to change to 2.0 stereo in my Realtek Audio Manager.

It seems that most people are getting it to work - I seem to have a strange case. I launch Google Earth VR and I can hear the sounds, I can even hear the sounds from my button presses on my Vive controllers, but I see nothing. Its similar to just a blank screen.

Does anyone else have this issue? I really want to try Google Earth VR because it looks amazing.

(P.s. Every other VR game works)

Most other VR games use DirectX while Google Earth VR uses OpenGL, so it's conceivable that the set of issues may be different.

What GPU do you use? Any chance you have multiple GPUs in your machine?

I am currently running a laptop and my current GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M - which I understand is below the recommended/minimum specs, but I have gotten multiple VR games to run smoothly and I am not as prone to motion sickness as many others so frame drops don't affect me as much (But could this be the issue?).

Are you sure it's using the GeForce GPU and not the in-CPU Intel stuff? Assuming, of course, that you have an Intel CPU.

I am an absolute dummy. This was the issue! I can't believe I missed this. Thank you so much Demonen for saving me hours of stress! For anyone else with the issue - this is the fix!

Google Earth VR is absolutely amazing (:

Yep, I had that same problem with some other stuff, and people tend to miss it, so it's always the first thing I check now. For everything!

Hi all. I cannot get this to start. I get no error messages at all. I am not using surround sound or usb headphones. I am using the latest driver from Nvidia 375.95.
I welcome any suggestions?
Thanks

hey AJMix. I have the same steup. How did you fix it?
Digital Dystopia Nov 20, 2016 @ 12:10pm
Having the same non starting issues. I have the updated version of the the software. I'm using a set of Wireless Corsair Void headphones via USB, Windows 10 64bit, GTX 980 and I7 gpu. I get an error message stating the google earth can only support stereo audio output at this time.

Dreksiss: Did you try just using the built-in audio? Sounds like the program chokes on your 7.1 audio.
