After reading about the suggestions I decided to see if a usb device was causing the problem. However that didn't work. As messing with the sound has helped some, I tried changing the sound settings from my Bose bluetooth headphones to the HTC Vive sound output on the headset and then plugged in an old pair of wired headphones. This worked and I can now use Google earth. I'll just switch back to the bluetooth headphones for my other games.
Hope that helps someone.
Cheers.
I dont get any error messages.
I am on win10 64 bits home english, i7 6700k @4.7 ghz, 16gb ddr4 ram, gtx 980ti xtreme. GFX driver is up to date.
FYI I have a Razer Kraken usb headset, a Creative HS 1200 wireless usb headset and Creative speakers (analog 3,5mm jackplug). In addition I have the earplugs from HTC Vive.
still not work for me, what can we do ??
Mne was quitting before it even got stared like many others. Had tried all the removing USB devices to no effect along with setting the VIVE as the Sound device and neither worked. The above worked for me although instead of doing a repair i had to uninstall and reinstall as the repair option got stuck. Only reinstalled x64 option but hapily worked fine after that.
