Inport gpx and other track files
So really loving Google Earth VR and the updates you guys are doing. Its becoming more than just a cool thing to fly around in.
I'm actually using it in planing my Bike packing trip i'm taking this summer (http://www.bikepacking.com/routes/green-mountain-gravel-growler/).
Its giving me a good sense of the hills and terrain I will be encountering, along with the google street view on a lot of the gravel roads.

The thing is its hard to know exactly where some of the off road single tracks go (they are covered by trees). Right now I have google maps loaded on my desktop with the trail marked out (imported GPX) and I flip between Desktop view in the Vive to the google earth VR app but would love a way to import GPX, KML or even saved my places (maps) from my google maps account into Google Earth VR. This way I could see the trail marked out (and POI's) in Google Earth VR. Would make this extremely useful.

If any one at google has some 20% left (if that's even a thing any more): The ultimate use of Google Earth VR for me would to use to train for my bike trips in VR. I.E. Google earth VR api for smart bike trainers to be able to hook into the app and use motion of the bike trainer to move you in google Earth VR to follow a track and for the elevation data to be sent to the trainer using ANT+ to change its resistance. This would be amazing. (I already do some training in VR using zwift and VR app big screen. Its pretty amazing but its not real world visuals and tracks)

++ Definitely this a must have...the ability to import data from Google maps. I'm trying to do the same thing with through hiking trails.

This is a necessary and useful feature that I use a lot in Google Earth and would love to see come to GE VR.

Definitely, since it's easily done in the 2D Google Earth, it seems like only enabling VR for that or adding a menu to import for Google earth VR, amazing thing is that it still is missing.

You know this was a 5 1/2 year old thread? The devs are long gone sadly.
