My ISP sux and takes ages to download a region ( I.E. Manhattan / Chigago ) I would like to have an option to download a region so I can explore it even without internet.

Yeah! I second that demand. It would be very usefull to be able to save data locally (on computer) for later offline exploration.

YESSSSS!!! Please make this possible! Please give us the option to download our favorite locations so we don't have to wait for load times every single time! PLEEEAASE :))

Everything is loaded completely from be beginning even when visiting the same location a second time. So please add configurable local caching!

it would be cool - so if you show someone you can have all the 3D pre-loaded.

the complete google earth database is 3 petabytes, and I'm sure they have zero implementaion of breaking it up

The Google Earth Destop app have a cache. So why can't we have it here?
I wait till cache is available and I'm not using this app anymore. The wait times are too long, especially when you want to show someone else a special location.
And why is none of googles devs answering in this forum?
Have they given up further development?

the installer does make a cache file in your %ProgramData path at install, so you may want to check you have enough space on that drive as the program will append map data to that file during each session.

Yes but that cache file don't work obviously for many people, including me.
This file is never touched and don't grow. Every location I have to download again and again.
This is also discussed here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/348250/discussions/0/215439774868699884/

That's why the topic is to download A REGION. You know, a lot less than 3 petabytes.

Googles game is The Cloud, not your local (own and private) cache.
