can i save in the cloud?
nice bit of kit...but i am not sure if work is saved in the cloud or not. ie, to save a chapter, a copy is created on my hard drive. if i delete the hard drive copy, the nimble writer copy disappears as well. i have only been experimenting with this for an hour or so, so maybe i m missing somthing. would appreciate some clarification on this issue.

Hmm, you're saying that if you delete the nwd file on your local drive that it also disappears from Steam Cloud? That's weird, I don't see how that could happen. You have to make sure you select a document for cloud syncing though. (It doens't synchronize by default, you have to tell it to.)
thankyou scratch. ok, i ll take a look at cloud syncing.

I tested this and am having trouble fetching files off of the cloud. The only options seems to be to "download local copy" off the disk or "save current document on steam cloud". Whenever I right click on a file in the cloud, it only gives me the option to delete.

There doesn't seem to be a way to retrieve files from the cloud. I may be missing something.
well, im still finding my way around but the text i thought was lost has reappeared under the chapter managment tab. even so, would appreciate a quick walk through on how to do this cloud syncing thing as not too familiar with it. ie, how do i save/store the chapters i ve rediscovered in such a way that even if my computer blows up, i can still get back to them.

Hmm, it appears that the cloud syncing dialog isn't very clear to use yet. I'll have to do some redesigning there.

Basically, you select a document and click on "Download local copy". It will then download the file from Steam Cloud to your local hard drive. Whenever you save that local copy, it will automatically upload it to the Steam cloud as well.

"Save current document to Steam Cloud" is for uploading a new document to Steam Cloud.

It works. Renaming "download local copy" can be renamed to "Retrieve copy from Steam Cloud" and it'll make perfect sense.

To cirus minor: the "download local copy" will let you save a copy of what's on the cloud to your harddrive. It wasn't entirely clear at first though.
thanks acephoenix, but actually the thing i m not sure about is how to store text in the cloud, not how to retrieve it from the cloud...now the thing is, i thought i was doing this anyway, but scratch said that cloud syncing was not done automatically. fine, so how do you do it?

Currently, you have to click the "save current document on steam cloud" button.

i ve done that, and a box appears with a list of currently stored files...but only one saved file appears and when i tried to save more a box popped up saying that these files where already stored...but, they didn t appear in the list of stored files! so still a bit confused.
