It does have a narrow black bar on each side of the screen on my 16:9 1920x1080 screen, but hardly noticeable.

I'd like to get a hold of the texture files and use that new AI upscaling software that kliksphilip was demonstrating on them. It'd probably work pretty well for the actual assets, but there would probably be some software complications.

I like the game in 4:3, 16:9 doesn't look right, I changed scaling settings in my video card so it doesn't stretch it out.

Use The Xbox 360 Textures There already 16:9

You can't actually change the resolution the game runs at BUT!!.... you can force it to run fullscreen for whatever resolution your desktop is. Simply go into your steam folder or wherever Peggle is installed and find the peggle.exe.
Now, R-click + Hold and drag it to the desktop then let go the mouse button. Choose 'create shortcut here.' Delete the shortcut that steam put on your desktop if you had it. You can edit the shortcut name to your liking. Now you're ready to fiddle with it.

R-click your Peggle shortcut and choose properties. You'll be in the 'Shortcut' tab of the properties window. Down near bottom is a drop-down list for the 'Run' command. Select the 'Maximized' option.
Now select the 'compatibility' tab. Down near bottom is a button you'll press called 'change high DPI settings.' In this window down near bottom is an option 'High DPI scaling override' and you'll check the box to: Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: (should be set to 'Application')
Voila! Press 'OK' couple times and your out of the properties window. Launch Peggle and go to 'Options' then check the box to 'Fullscreen.' It should now expand to fill your desktop regardless what resolution you're running.

Btw....this is a standard fix for most any app that is stuck at a fixed resolution not matching your desktop / desired res.

The thing about PopCap games is that they're usually just a bunch of PNG's with code that makes them interactive. The game was designed with 600p in mind, so if you force it to change (if you can) it looks the same.

Ok so i know this is old but i think i found a way kind of. so its not really a fix but i found a way to extract main.pak so you can edit the files https://www.moddb.com/downloads/plants-vs-zombies-pak-extractor its meant for Plants Vs. Zombies but still works. It would also probably work for some Popcaps other games to. So some one would have to upscale textures.

While in game bottom left purple circle with words saying menu click it and then untick 3d acceleration this will improve the graphics immensely. You can also tick the full screen option if for what ever reason its unticked. I'm also currently looking for any graphical mods or options or coding that will help with resolution.
