Peggle starts but not really?

I keep getting this error with Peggle Deluxe, Nights, and other PopCap games. When I open it, the application appears on the taskbar but the game doesn't actually open. It just resizes my windows when I select it. It's not even a blank screen - it's as though the program isn't running at all, but the Alt-Tab clearly shows that Peggle Deluxe is my current window.

I'm on Windows 10 so maybe it's hopeless, but I tried the demo (about a year ago) and it worked, and none of the compatibility mode options work.

I am using win11 and it keeps happening me too, I really dont know how to fix it

Alright fast update: I found the solution from another steam comment

1-Go to registery
2-Find Peggle
3-Change "Screen Mode" value 1 to 0

So yeah it works for me now.

Ps. if you run into "steam.dll" problem basically find the "steam.dll" on ur computer copy it and paste into the game file.

That worked for me! It's stuck at a small window size and setting it to fullscreen gives me the same problem, but at least I can play it now. Thanks!

where is the registry

Windows Registry is a program comes with your windows computer simply type and find it. After that you should be able to find peggle but you have to dig a little bit. I don't own a windows computer anymore so I cannot say where the peggle registry will be.
