With the amber robe and hood, and the ring of intellect, the amber staff deals 29 damage by firing a projectile with moderate speed for 10 mana per shot.
On the other hand, we have the Shadow dagger, which in combination with the Minotaur skull deals 30 damage by firing a projectile with a fast speed, for free.
In the previous version, when wearing the amber robe and hood, mana almost couldn't run out if you used the amber staff, but now, it's easily depleted.
Could you perhaps add a new tier of gems, that make working with the little mana you have worth it?
It auto fills with food by simply right clicking.
Regardless if player actually has any food items in inventory.
It would make more gameplay sense if the trough could only be filled if the player has food items in inventory such as Grain or Carrots.
I make the following suggestion.
To prevent the unwanted useage of players food in inventory perhaps the option to craft an animal feed at the Mill such as;
Grain + Grass = Animal Feed specifically for sheep and chickens
Meat + Carrots = Pig Swill specifically for Pigs
Having this option could also be used to control breeding of animals.
If no Food is in the troughs then no further spawns of Sheep,Pigs,Chickens will occur.(NOTE: Currently Chickens spawn without any food required)
NAILED IT!!!! Boom
I was thinking of doing something similar to make cooking and farming more rewarding. I can easily add a well fed buff that decreases hunger drain
While that game was far, far more survival-focused than Forsaken Island is, the system was pretty great, so I'll just throw this here.
As far as bonuses go, I think you should just have health regeneration and perhaps other things(metabolizing poison, speed, etc.) depend on how well fed the player is, in addition to making the whole mechanic less of a linear until-it-hits-zero one, and slower.
I noticed this as well. I was going to bring it up it in bugs but since it's here already I won't.
@Smoodlez
I have been playing with auto-save disabled because I find it annoying when it freezes. However, when I went to the in game menu with save, main menu, and resume. I accidentally hit main menu. This means I lost my progress. I would like to suggest either a confirmation to leave without saving or leaving to the main menu automatically saves the game.
Another thing that would be nice to have would be the option to name game saves. Or maybe something like showing an image of where you last saved or your character standing at it's current respawn point.
Regardless, Thanks for the game.
Edit: About the crafting recipes, right now as far as I can tell there are three stages; unknown, theorized, and known. Theorized being the stage where you know the item but not the recipe. My suggestion on that front isn't something simple but creating a drafting/drawing/research system that will help you go from theorized to known, or unknown to theorized if you have previously had the materials required for the recipe, but not at the same time.
Say for example something like:
Writing/Drawing/Drafting Table = Bottle + Feather + Work Bench
Pulp = Fibers (in some number) in the Mill
Parchment = Pulp (in some number) + Resin/Slime/Glue on Writing/Drawing/Drafting Table
Coal Powder = Coal in the Mill
Ink = Water + Coal Powder on Writing/Drawing/Drafting Table
Doodle = Ink + Parchment on Writing/Drawing/Drafting Table
Using the Doodle gives some percent chance of changing a recipe from unknown to theorized provided you've had the materials, or from theorized to known.
This sort of setup could also be used to create maps somehow. Maybe something like
Drawing Tools = Ink + Bottle + Feather
Map = Parchment (in some number) + Resin/Slime/Glue
Atlas = Leather + Map x (number of layers) + Cord x 3 + Drawing Tools
Edit: Finally found a paper recipe in the game. orz.
I play on perma death mode and you need to make food harder for me.
Seasons would be awesome where thing stop growing and the sorts, like winter you couldnt grow anything.
Getting meat off animals should be given only with a bow and arrow or even a skinning knife with durabailty.
This game is going to go really far :D.
Also some advanced food would be nice that give sweet buffs. Pizza and stew for the win :D
