Will add some alternate controls for keyboard layouts. I added the arrow keys for movement too, if that's any easier

There is no reason to use magic anymore.
With the amber robe and hood, and the ring of intellect, the amber staff deals 29 damage by firing a projectile with moderate speed for 10 mana per shot.
On the other hand, we have the Shadow dagger, which in combination with the Minotaur skull deals 30 damage by firing a projectile with a fast speed, for free.
In the previous version, when wearing the amber robe and hood, mana almost couldn't run out if you used the amber staff, but now, it's easily depleted.

Could you perhaps add a new tier of gems, that make working with the little mana you have worth it?

Buff the ammount of damage done by "burning" or walking through lava. Currently there's little to no reprecussion from the ailment while wearing 2 rings of regeneration. I find myself able to cruise through the underworld quite easily as a result.

I noticed that once the Trough is crafted that it has infinite ability.
It auto fills with food by simply right clicking.
Regardless if player actually has any food items in inventory.
It would make more gameplay sense if the trough could only be filled if the player has food items in inventory such as Grain or Carrots.
I make the following suggestion.
To prevent the unwanted useage of players food in inventory perhaps the option to craft an animal feed at the Mill such as;
Grain + Grass = Animal Feed specifically for sheep and chickens
Meat + Carrots = Pig Swill specifically for Pigs
Having this option could also be used to control breeding of animals.
If no Food is in the troughs then no further spawns of Sheep,Pigs,Chickens will occur.(NOTE: Currently Chickens spawn without any food required)

Hey, first of nice game keep going! :)
Here are some idears:

World map/Travel system - you should be able to build ships as endgame content and to travel to other islands (with harder difficulty) with different themes (like winter, halloween, vulcano, fungi) each with their own mobs, secrets to uncover and endbosses with chance of unique loot.
Map could be similar to starbound/pixel piracy, maybe endless/random or just very big ^^

Villages - friendly people to talk to, tradeing, questing maybe?! or for evil people be able to kill them all, take their stuff and to burn down everything they own :D

Levels/Skills/Abilities - different trees for collecting/fighting/crafting/magic. could contain stuff like chance to get back recources when crafting, getting more loot, extra chance for stuff on collecting, extra damage and so on there is tons of possibilities (e.g. Recource Collecter 0/10 - each step gives you like 1-2% chance for and extra item when collecting)

Multiplayer - speaks for itself, and imo pretty important for such a game.

Enhanced gamemode - night should be more dangerous, maybe monster attacks or that you need protection from the cold/darkness at night.
Defences for your base, spikes, pits, traps and so on.

New Game+ unlock - after you defeat special bosses or found some relics from all the different islands

Collectiable/Progression - similar to terraria where you find/craft items that increase your max health/mana (would be pretty usefull if you also do the NG+ idear)

so thats all for now, hope you like something from that list :fhappy:

NAILED IT!!!! Boom
Nearly 20.000 Achievement Hunters and 1 Million Card Collectors so 1 not to hard/ easy achievement or better more would be great and 5 trading cards :) i dont know if Steam Cloud could be useful? Maybe a 2-4 or more player online co-op and/ or multiplayer?

+1 for controller support :)

One thing I could suggest is a small tweak to the hunger mechanic. the food bar constantly drains and can catch you by suprise when you dont pay attention to it. What I suggest is add somethin called Hunger Saturation, an invisible value that slows the rate of food loss over time. how it works is that eating better foods slows or halts the draining of the food bar for longer periods of time. EG low value foods like raw berries would not have much impact as far as saturation, but high value foods like cooked meats and bread will halt the food loss for a couple minutes.

I was thinking of doing something similar to make cooking and farming more rewarding. I can easily add a well fed buff that decreases hunger drain

Starvation, nutrition, hydration, hunger, is how Unreal World did it. Starvation was a very long term, gradual problem, with bigger problems arising only from spending a longer time without being properly fed. Poor nutrition was caused by eating non-nutritious food, or just not eating enough. Hunger was your typical hunger mechanic, save for the fact that the worse your starvation was, the faster you grew hungry, so it was quite possible to "catch up" on food over just few days. Hydration was self-explanatory, I suppose. It was more of a logarithmic-ish scale, e.g. you got thirsty on the scale of few hours, but it took almost a day for serious thirst to kick in, and over a day for dehydration to start, and I believe up to around few days until death.

While that game was far, far more survival-focused than Forsaken Island is, the system was pretty great, so I'll just throw this here.

As far as bonuses go, I think you should just have health regeneration and perhaps other things(metabolizing poison, speed, etc.) depend on how well fed the player is, in addition to making the whole mechanic less of a linear until-it-hits-zero one, and slower.

I noticed this as well. I was going to bring it up it in bugs but since it's here already I won't.

@Smoodlez
I have been playing with auto-save disabled because I find it annoying when it freezes. However, when I went to the in game menu with save, main menu, and resume. I accidentally hit main menu. This means I lost my progress. I would like to suggest either a confirmation to leave without saving or leaving to the main menu automatically saves the game.

Another thing that would be nice to have would be the option to name game saves. Or maybe something like showing an image of where you last saved or your character standing at it's current respawn point.

Regardless, Thanks for the game.

Edit: About the crafting recipes, right now as far as I can tell there are three stages; unknown, theorized, and known. Theorized being the stage where you know the item but not the recipe. My suggestion on that front isn't something simple but creating a drafting/drawing/research system that will help you go from theorized to known, or unknown to theorized if you have previously had the materials required for the recipe, but not at the same time.

Say for example something like:
Writing/Drawing/Drafting Table = Bottle + Feather + Work Bench
Pulp = Fibers (in some number) in the Mill
Parchment = Pulp (in some number) + Resin/Slime/Glue on Writing/Drawing/Drafting Table
Coal Powder = Coal in the Mill
Ink = Water + Coal Powder on Writing/Drawing/Drafting Table
Doodle = Ink + Parchment on Writing/Drawing/Drafting Table
Using the Doodle gives some percent chance of changing a recipe from unknown to theorized provided you've had the materials, or from theorized to known.

This sort of setup could also be used to create maps somehow. Maybe something like
Drawing Tools = Ink + Bottle + Feather
Map = Parchment (in some number) + Resin/Slime/Glue
Atlas = Leather + Map x (number of layers) + Cord x 3 + Drawing Tools

Edit: Finally found a paper recipe in the game. orz.

When I go to the edge of the map the HUD stops going up and gets in the way of seeing what is there. I would like to suggest padding the map or making the last 4 or 5 tiles on the top or bottom impassable so that the HUD doesn't block those areas from player view.

Man this game is fantastic. I mean a 10 min go turns into 3-4 hours. You know you have something good.

I play on perma death mode and you need to make food harder for me.

Seasons would be awesome where thing stop growing and the sorts, like winter you couldnt grow anything.

Getting meat off animals should be given only with a bow and arrow or even a skinning knife with durabailty.

This game is going to go really far :D.

Also some advanced food would be nice that give sweet buffs. Pizza and stew for the win :D
