Go into the files, right click fairyfencer.exe, choose properties, compatability, and then set it to Windows 8 mode. That SHOULD fix your problem.
XP service pack 2 compatibility mode might help.
Ok try this then.
Go into "C:/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Fairy Fencer F" find the config file it's called FairyFencer and is 2 KB.
Find these 2 lines and make if needs be edit them to read like the do below.
FullScreen=1
BorderlessWindow=0
Save and try to launch the game.
That should make the game start in full screen mode but if there is no change then swap the 1 and 0 on the 2 settings and see if it will run in borderless windowed mode.
Sound like something is stealing focus from the application, there a lots of reasons why that could be happening firstly close any unneeded programs down. Secondly go to the games Exe (FairyFencer application) in the location above.
Right click the application and go into properties, in the compatibility tab check the box disable desktop compression.
Again there are lots of things this could be so google might be your friend.
Changing to borderless windowed solved the tabbing problem, but the game stayed black for some reason. However, changing LockWindowFramerate to 144 (monitor refresh rate) seems to have fixed that too.
The config file will show up in the file path but you may not have the same file path it depends what drive your steam file in mine on my D: drive used to be in my G: drive it will look like a note pad file.
