Karate Master 3?
I have to say I keep coming back to this game. It's way too fun, even though I play with keyboard and therefore can't use the flying kicks.

I think what I like about it is that, in the beginning of the game at least, it's more realistic than other fighting games, in terms of resembling real sport karate. There's all the issues with distance, timing, attacking before vs. attacking after, and you can win on points. In the beginning of the game it's more strategic and feels more mentally intense than other fighting games that are just so unrealistic they feel pretty arbitrary.

Are there any plans for a Karate Master 3 that would continue with these realistic elements of gameplay? I feel like with just a few additions or tweaks Karate Master 3 could be the most awesome realistic sparring game of all time.

*Torso damage should slow down ki regeneration. This is because trauma to and fatigue of the muscles of the diagphram interefere with oxygenation, and thus with physical strength.

*Leg damage should slow down movement and kicking speed. In some mixed martial arts matches especially in the days of the early UFC, we saw some fighters strategically kick the leg of their opponent so much that the opponent started limping and experienced reduced mobility. Therefore, repeated and prolonged leg kicks should be a tool that a thinking fighter can use to gradually defeat a more powerful opponent.

*I feel like the random "ikken hisatsu" that occurs actually reduces the quality of gameplay. It makes the fights towards the end of the game more random and less strategic. It's also pretty unrealistic in an even match that one fighter gets taken out with one hit. It has happened before, but it's extremely rare. In my opinion, this should be removed from the game. Or, it should only occur in matches where the player is so much stronger than the opponent that it's kind of a mechanism to end those matches quickly, so the game proceeds more quickly to the challenging matches.

If you have access to a PS2 or an Emulator check out the game Garouden Breakblow it plays like a 3D version of this, very fun, locational damage, and a variety of styles that include BJJ and Muay Thai as well.

Isn´t that the game where you can unlock Yujiro Hanma as a secret bonus character with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ one hit kill (not ko, he actually kills the opponent!).

EDIT: Found it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9npiVXQRnE

Didn´t know there was a PS2 version. I assumed it was arcade exclusive because the graphics look amazing. Tried it today and it also runs super smooth at contant 60fps. Seriously, why was this never released outside of Japan?
