Total Miner

Total Miner

Looks like all the other Minecraft rip-offs...
what's so special about this one? I see you can script your own stuff, etc. etc., Minecraft isn't voxel based, so there's a few differences under the hood, but on the outside it just looks like another Minecraft to me.

I dunno, I see games constantly coming out that look just like Minecraft, and I played that game until I was blue in the face.

Don't take my comment here in the wrong way. I'm not trying to being mean, if I come off that way, I guess I just don't understand it is all.

Comparing differently on Minecraft and Total Miner Forge without mods or plugins:

* > Total Miner lets you script way easier and faster than scripting 1 line using command block by command block.
* Minecraft only has Enchantments, Elytra, Beacons, Pistons, and Item Frames
* > Total Miner has Creative features such as Fill, Replace, and more.
* > Total Miner has the hight limit of 1-511 OR in TMF Dig Deep: 1-more than 3,100 and Minecraft has 0-256
* > Total Miner has shops to all blocks and items and Minecraft has Villagers for limited trading.
* > Total Miner Avatars are far different than Minecraft's Blocky characters
* > Total Miner has Zoning System.
* Minecraft Furnace system doesn't waste fuel unless if there's an ingredient in the furnace.
* Minecraft Chests animate open and close, one way
* > Total Miner Scripts can manage player Permissions
* > Total Miner has Private Chests and Doors.
* > Total Miner has Skill System (Attack, Defence, Health (that increases health on level up), Building, Mining, Farming, Looting (Adds more chances to drop rarer items), Crafting, Smelting, Smithing, and some others to explore), and can be toggled off.
* Minecraft Update Aquatic made players swim faster underwater.
* > Total Miner has lots of ranged weapons and Minecraft has a plain wood bow.
* > Total Miner has lots of jewelery, metal, and stone, and Minecraft Has Diamonds, Emeralds, Gold, Iron, plain Stone, Cobblestone, Andesite, Diorite, and Granite (If I remember those stones correctly).
* > Some Total Miner scripts are really cool.
* Minecraft has lots of potions.
* Minecraft can mine crops by hand than using a scythe.
* Minecraft has more Eatable foods.
* Minecraft Grass can spread.
* Minecraft has Mushroom Grass (Mycelium).
* Minecraft has 1 exploding type of mob: Creepers
* Minecraft currently have MP and Infinite worlds.

Total Miner Forge came out 2 year before minecraft so... Minecraft ripped off Total Miner Forge.

Minecraft came out in 2009, Total Miner Forge came out in 2007?

I'm finding information that says Total Miner Forge came out in 2011 on Xbox.

It is from 2011, but they didn't exactally copy Minecraft. If it did, Craig would be adding a copy of Redstone systems, Brewing Stand system, Shears for shearing Sheep, so much more

I'm not saying a copy in the sense that, they copied every single little bit of Minecraft. More like, how the world looks. All blocky looking. If you look at just the way the world gets created with the blocks, it looks like a Minecraft clone. There are a crap-ton of games out there that look like Minecraft.

Well, that doesn't matter if a terrain is copied, This terrain generator is different compared to Minecraft.

Edit: There would be lakes lying around, but there aren't lakes anywhere in the default setting.

To be honest its mostly a nastalgia grab. Played it when I was a kid and it was nice to revisit for a bit. going to wait for multiplayer to be released though before I continue.

total miner is better due to more diverse blocks, ores, dig deep, blue prints that force you to mine deep, underground cave-ins that pose a threat at all times, and better texture pack integration. miencraft is better due to animations, feeling of the world ebing alvie, better lighting, better food system, better diversity of mods, better textures in some cases, better world size horizontally. dimensions, better mobs, and better fighting that is not just punch punch puncdh. minecraft has changes in texture when you hit mobs, and knock back which make fights feel more involved. enchantments also allow better costomization of gear. if you want better building, play total miner. if you want better overall costomization, and mechanics play minecraft.

Im pretty sure Total Miner has many features that Minecraft only recently got or Minecraft has not got.

I bet Total Miner will have better Multiplayer than Minecraft: Java Edition. Do you think Minecraft has Pay to host Realms and Servers? LAN doesn't count, because I think it counts as System Link.

I dunno, I see games constantly coming out that look just like Minecraft, and I played that game until I was blue in the face.

Funny, all the WWII FPS look the same to me.

There's several things that are different between the two, but to me, the big ones are:
1- TM goes MUCH deeper than MC. The caves are amazing! MC is still only 64 blocks deep, where TM caves goes thousands of blocks deep!
2- The levels of ore. While MC has a few different pickaxes needed dig 2-3 ores, TM has like a dozen layers of ores. You NEED to find the Blueprints for the more sophscated pickaxes to dig deeper. (Lucky for us, there's a Blueprint Finder).
3- Heaven and Hell. Digging (and building) isn't the only thing to do. In Dig Deep, about 1/3 down is Hell- a Giant Spider-filled (and eggs to make more spiders) level. Think Nether... but bigger and nastier. Getting past that is a challenge! Then about 2/3 down is Heaven- another layer, but this one has gold everywhere.
4- Ropes. They'll let you drop down (or climb up) about 100 blocks at a time. You'll need them!
5- A REAL ecomony. MC only dreams of one (and it's funny to read about MC players TRYING to make one). In TM, you can buy or sell anything in the Shops. It will make digging down to the rarer ores well worth it!
6- Obsidian. It's not just a fancy ore for some extra coins- it's used for teleportation! And you can color-code them and teleport to/from several different points. (Hint, place one by the Shop and one at Home).

There's MANY differences between the two. Just because a game's world is made of blocks does NOT mean one "copied" or is a "clone" of another. See post #2 for more differences. Heck, Survival Craft 2 is different that either one. It has about 40 different animals and fishes in it, and color-coded wires that can cross each other(!) instead of that stupid "dust" (redstone) you put on the ground to transmit power (what numbskull at MC thought that was a good idea?).

If Craig trying to copy Minecraft at more than 25% What kind of a nubbskull (I know how to spell "Numbskull" but I meant that 1 letter as a joke) can he be?

Script Blocks are not equal to a Command Block.
Copy and Pasting is better than using Structure Blocks.
Has more creative features than Minecraft.
Command blocks are limited to 75 blocks in radius, but Scripts can run anywhere anytime.
Scripts are better than /function
