Android/iOS ads, inapp purchases, leaderboards ... ?
For Android and/or iOS, does GG Maker support:
- ads (iAds,Admob...)
- in-app purchases
- leaderboards
-social plugins
...
If not, is there a way for users to add custom code in Java/objective-C/Swift or to integrate libraries such as soom.la, onesdk, fabric... ?

Thanks

Ads - AdMob support is currently on the table. Unfortunately Google doesn't make it easy to implement but there might be a way to get around the difficulty and add this much-requested functionality.

IAPs - There are currently no plans to add this at this point in time, due to the difficulty and time needed to implement them. There are potential workarounds for this, as Danny has already mentioned, but it requires you to implement your own system.

Leaderboards/Scoreboards - Are more than possible. A tutorial is available here[engine001.com] that explains how to set one up.

Plugins - There is currently no way to add/implement social plugins or any other plugins at this point in time.

Personally I would like to see some method added to GG Maker to allow users to add these ourselves without having to wait on them to be added officially. This would make GG Maker much more powerful. Just my 2 cents worth.

I noticed on the Wiki (http://engine001.com/wiki/ultimate) that the program allows users Shell Access. The text is repeated below:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shell Access

This allows Subscribers to launch files and applications on the users computer through the game. For example; you may want the user to be able to go to your web site to check for updates or get the latest news about your game so you could place a button somewhere in your game that then uses the 'Execute Shell Command' event to launch the users default web browser and navigate to your web site. You could also do similar things for displaying documentation. For example; you could open Notepad and then open a text file into it that has your games documentation, etc. This is a very powerful feature and due to its nature, if you upload a game to the 001 Web Site with this event it will be automatically disabled.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Could this not be used for third pary SDKs, APIs and such. The idea would be to create a seperate stand alone program which would access these third party features. How much would the game be able to communicate with the programs launched through the Shell (for example to know when a digital good has been purchased)? Are there any restrictions? Where can I find detailed information about how to use the Execute Shell Command? What about the various app stores? Would they allow this to be used in apps distributed through them?

Or is another method being developed to allow us to access third party SDKs and APIs?

Thanks.

The 'Execute Shell Command' event is a Windows-specific feature. It wouldn't work for mobile devices.

As far as I'm aware, no (to all of the above) however I do know that if a game was made worthy of publishing to these devices, then the functionality could and would most likely be added at the request of the user. As it currently stands, there haven't been any games made in GG Maker that have made their way to the Android/iOS stores - so there isn't really much point in adding this functionality until a game actually needs it.

My advice to you (and others with the same question) is to worry about making your game first and then ask about these types of features - as these are things that can be added later down the line with relative ease.
Thing is nobody is going to buy this software to create games for android/iOS if the software doesn't include those features... That's why there haven't been games made for android/iOS with this engine.

You guys should definitely include those features so people that want to create games for android/iOS are more confident about buying GG Maker.

Actually it is possible to make "In Game Purchases" as i will soon have one of these in my game thats being created for me. The downside is payments wont be secure as 001 doesnt offer such features (For now) so i have to purchase my own hosting, SSL Certificate and then have the entire system made me for me to entire its secure. If you want to go through the hassle it is possible.

Leaderboards ARE possible since i have one in my current game and theres a tutorial here that i wrote myself http://engine001.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=27946&p=384208&hilit=leaderboard+tutorial#p384208

The leaderboard was not made my me it was made for me but the tutorial is mine.

Don't give up 001/GG Maker is always expanding! Happy Game Making :D

Exactly this.

Our small Indie company has already made games and are published through Google Play, expanding into Windows Phones and iOS. We use Admob and Adblitz to monetize our free games. GameMaker Studio gave us that ability.

I was pretty hyped on GG Maker, since I am the UI/graphics' guy, I can do some of the projects primarily from my angle, then have my programmer partner look at it later. However, with what the dev said above, I am pretty much turned off from purchasing this for commercial development.

In other words, this seems to be a Catch 22. Dev says, "Worry about making a game first, before we implement any of those functions. Then we will decide to do it later." Well, how would people make a commercial viable game with a tool that doesn't offer what developers want?

So until GGM offers a means to implement ads and IAP, I will have to continue to learn GMS and Unity.

What is meant by that is: by the time you've actually made your game, the functionality will likely already be in place (as games usually take a while to develop). Since this thread is old, I feel I should update it:

Ads - AdMob support is currently on the table. Unfortunately Google doesn't make it easy to implement but there might be a way to get around the difficulty and add this much-requested functionality.

IAPs - There are currently no plans to add this at this point in time, due to the difficulty and time needed to implement them. There are potential workarounds for this, as Danny has already mentioned, but it requires you to implement your own system.

Leaderboards/Scoreboards - Are more than possible (I must have missed that when I initially posted). A tutorial is available here[engine001.com] that explains how to set one up.

Plugins - There is currently no way to add/implement social plugins or any other plugins at this point in time.

Thanks for the clarification Atomerain. The Admob function is probably the most important at this stage for small companies like us. IAP's would be great even if it's just a means for us to implement our own. I will take a closer look into GG Maker then.

I was interested to buy this game engine until I notice that admob, iap, and social services still missing. Sorry, but until you guys implement this, I have to stay away. Too many game engine promises this and yet to deliver..

I'm Very Disappointed, This engine And very Easy to Use, The Problem And The Resource Missing (The Engine This Since 2001) Ate Today Lack Resources, Improve It (I know it hard to make a engine so), but The Year That Was Made. Use Since 2013 (The Free Version wore lot, but did not see much difference in pay) I'm Squeezing her, not nothing else I can Extract

Perhaps instead of AdMob you could use Unity Ads, Facebook Ads, Amazon.com ads, RevMob or some of the other ad sources (there are many of them). I would definately use one that has rewarded videos available.
