Turn-Based Combat and RPG are two entirely different things. RPG is a genre, Turn-Based Combat is a mechanic. I feel the need to point this out to you as you seem to be getting confused. The template provided is an RPG template but it uses action-based combat as opposed to turn-based combat. An RPG isn't defined by whether or not it uses a Turn-Based Battle System.
There's connotations with genres. When people hear RPG, they think of Role Playing Games in the more traditional sense. Dileneating "Action RPG" helps. So I'm sticking with my assertion on that.
It is possible, but you'll have to hand-script everything.
All of that was made by me. I've made tons of other games, and this engine is just really simple and easy to make games with, its just amazing.
If you need any help with the engine or anything, I've been using it for over 3 years, so I know lots about scripting and stuff
