Dev's, please fix this so that any items beyond their normal load-out get dropped back into the stash instead of just dropped.
Hesitant to give Duncan the Prototype Laser Sniper because I don't want to lose it after one mission.
Well, that was random.
EDIT: I think I've figured it out. Basically, if you save in a mission and then reload, the items you loaned will vanish after the mission is over. However, if you complete a mission without reloading, the items won't vanish.
Unless it also applies if you restart, too?
Just want to note this is a horrifying bug that needs immediate attention from the game developers, either way. It's not game breaking but it's certainly pretty bad.
When you say 'no items sent to crewmates passed on', do you mean no items were lost?
Anyway, if that's the case? As I mentioned, save *in the middle of a mission* and reload and the items get lost. Reloading the mission start autosave (where you assign items to your characters) doesn't have any such problems.
Or at least, that was the case for me. Basically, reload *before* you passed on items, and you're fine. Finish the game *without* reloading a save in the middle of the mission, and you're also fine. Reload a save in the middle of the mission, and say goodbye to your items. From what I read elsewhere, it might be because in such a scenario, those loaned items get treated as items locked to the characters in question.
It's a major pain, yeah, especially since certain items are unique and you can lose them this way if you aren't aware of the bug. If you need to, I'd recommend the Shadowrun Save Editor to give yourself the items again. It's cumbersome (especially since items added to your stash aren't recognized through it, meaning you have to modify existing items or change your equipment directly), but it'll do the trick.
Still needs to be fixed, though. That's just a shoddy workaround.
While I'd love to be the novahot hero that fixed what is obviously the most glaring and problematic bug in SRHK (though I've neither encountered nor tested for it), I think this one might need HBS' deckers to patch, and as long as folks are sending them direct bug reports on this (via their website contact form), there's little else we can do sadly.
Not only did the item LOCK when I reloaded my save later (Duncan treated it as part of his own kit, meaning I couldn't take it back off him), but after I completed the mission and started the next one, the Shock Glove was totally gone from his inventory and nowhere in my Stash.
There is something REALLY wrong with how items are managed in party member inventories. Right now, it's ENTIRELY unsafe to give them ANYTHING beyond their default kit.
