Dragonfall using Hong Kong's engine
I own Dragonfall and Hong Kong, and decided that, since I had both, I'd see if I could combine them. Dragging over the contentpack allows the game to be started, but I'm wondering how far integration goes. Does anyone know, or have any educated guesses?

This is for personal use only, no I won't send you my content pack.

I would say that as soon as you get to the matrix the game would get screwed up

If it does, I wonder if mods from Dragonfall would work in Hong Kong?

Crossing my fingers for Dragonfall UGC for Hongkong.

I'll give you my reports as I go through, just started the first run in Dragonfall.

Update: Not gonna work, game crashed the instant I went to pick up my gear. It brought up the Kong Kong "Take/Manage" menu and froze. Alas.

Edit: I take it back, it was just lag, we're back on!
Edit 2: New roadblock, Monica can't deck in to get the paydata. Restarting as a decker to see if it stops me

Doing god's work there, son.
Someone get to work on porting the DF DC camp.
DF with the cyberware and magic upgrades could actually get me to play it again.
That matrix changes could tarnish the experience though...

Update 3: Starting as a decker is a no go. You don't start with a datajack and thus can't equip your deck. (Also, doesn't look like it was lag, I had to press a hotkey)

Looks like Dragonfall's a no-go in Hong Kong's engine. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Damn. Hopefully some talented modder will get to work on remaking the game on Hong Kong's engine.

to get it to work fully would take a lot of work. there's a lot of triggers that would need to point to the HK equivalent location etc. but have fun trying :)

I think the problem is that Monica can't equip her deck either. The issues are minor but I have no idea how one would go about fixing it.

Of course HK use same engine as DF they are both made with Unity (if by engine you meant on actual engine.)However what you intend to do is not going to work,at least not the way you had chosen , I can't tell without source code for sure but a lot of things is changed/optimized/add so there is going to be conflict.

What you need to do is to pull sleeves and start converting DF campaign with HK editor tool, once it's stable, however is it really worth a trouble ?

Depends on the level of difficulty. I have absolutely no idea how to work the editor, and even if I did it, I wouldn't be allowed to share it.

Yes. To play Dragonfall with Hongkong improvements would be a dream. I can't do it myself but I'm going to always hope for that UGC.

EDIT: I now suddenly have the urge to mess around with HK editor when it comes out. I made mods for other games before, how hard can it be? (Ends up crashing and burning.)

the editor is already there, it's in the same directory as the SR-HK executable.
