Which crew for which missions?
Wondering if anyone has suggestions for which crew to bring (or not bring) for specific missions. I know in a few side quests the game prompts you to bring a specific person. Does your crew level up even if you don't bring them along?

Always have a decker in the group, that's my personal philosophy.

As far as I can tell, your crew levels up based on how many missions have been completed, regardless of who you took on each run.

No exp system, its all based on progression through main quests, so side ones dont level anyone. The crew is up to you though and a lot of it is kind of intuitive. I agree though on the decker assessment, in almost every situation you can get some pay data with the decker upping your quest reward by 300-800 every time.and Izzy has that sweet grenade launcher which is a ton of fun.

I always had Is0bel and Racter in crew because Is0bel was my decker and Racter's drone can get some stuff thought vents. If you want specific I would spoil you story and I don't want to do that

Always make sure you have a decker and a magic type available. Other than that, most things are fine. Pick whatever you like, your team will level if you bring them or not.

Though I do highly reccomend bringing Gaichu into very social missions for the comedy. Particularly DeckCon (Izzy's companion quest) and the party one.

Thanks for the no spoilers. Glad to know my crew will level up no matter who I bring, so I guess no real "wrong" choices.

Does bringing Gaichu cause fights? Because I brought him on the Ares run and it nearly got ugly before Racter got involved. Just like to know in case I scr*w the pooch straight out the gate by bringing him.

There are some decker workarounds, but all around it's best to have one. I found Gobbet less useful than shamans in previous games, but your mileage may vary.

I've never had it happen. If he gets noticed its usually to be funny.

OK. TvTropes said it leads to fights, so I just wanted a second opinon. I'm tempted to bring him along mostly for bleed damage, and now for the humor. Worst comes to worst, make a save before heading out so in case it really does cause a fight, I can just reload.

Gobbet can be great, she has some good support spells and that poison clowd *whistle* when used right is beastly. her specialisation make her either a battlefield controller or sommoner, so still in a support role.

part of the reason I want to rig with the sniper drone is for battlefield control.

I brought Gaichu along whenever I could, I don't think it led to any fights.. But I was usually sharp enough with charisma/etiquettes to convince people he was a cosplayer (much to his annoyance) or tell them to be sensitive to HMHVV infected people that still retained their senses. Or, as you found out, had Racter chew the scenery until people were too stunned to stop him.

If I recall correctly there was nothing to use a decker for in the serial killer mission.

Correct.. A little ironic. You go to decker heaven, and not -one- Matrix section and I think one decking skillcheck with an option to use charisma instead?
