Strongest Melee Weapon?
I’m currently thinking of going through Hong Kong as an Adept and I’m wondering what type of weapon I should gear him to, should I go the standard melee weapon route? Unarmed? Maybe even lose a little essence and get a cyberweapon? So I’m wondering what type of weapon ends up being the strongest in the end.

the final store buyable unarmed weapon is pretty wicked (Blood to Blood, gives you hp regen after each kill)

i'm pretty sure cyberweapons don't work with adept skills though.

I could have sworn I read that some cyberweapons counted as a melee weapon for chi skills, is that not true? Or is it a bug?

I believe that the hand razors and cyber spurs both count as melee weapons, for the purposes of Qui Casting. Shock hands MIGHT count as an unarmed weapon, though. The monofilament whip definitely counts as a ranged weapon.

Sword/Katana build is the way to go with an adept. Strength for damage and melee skill, body for HP and Quickness for dodging. Unarmed killing hands can do decent damage, but honestly that AP damaging Katana is just great for running up and butchering opponents. Strength, close combat at melee weapons will be key to unlocking the top tier blades that you can buy from Spider Shen. Since you already go the strength route, might as well eschew guns and use grenades and throwing weapons like the shuriken. Not very damaging but it lets you feel like you're doing something useful when you take cover and close on enemies. That stride ability is useful for closing in on foes fast, and the magic resistance and mystic armor abilities will help you from getting beat up as you sprint. Mystic Armor has a really nice ability where you have cover even when out in the open, it's a must buy for katana fans.

Unarmed has it's own tree of abilities, but I had decent unarmed and killing hands this time through with my gun-fu adept. For some reason he just cannot land a punch for the life of him at around 5 unarmed, so I doubled down on his pistols. I so wish adepts could use their ability boosts towards other weapons like in PnP. That character I played way back was utterly sick, killing hands, unarmed specializations, 10 pistols... but alas, PC Shadowrun is what it is.

What exactly is the end game weapon for the melee weapons? Because the added effect of Blood to Blood is making me think that an unarmed build could be an unstoppable beast at the end.
