Companion Quests
Do all the companions have a personal quest?

So far I have found Gobbet's sunken ship quest
Is0bel's deckcon quest
Gaichu's Red Samurai ambush quest.
Racter and Duncun haven't given me any yet.

Racter does have a quest. I didn't get one for Duncan even though I talked to him all the time, so I don't think he has one or I somehow missed it...

all of them except for Duncan, Racters quest is tied to one of the runs you get normally.

ARES mission.

Ah drek, that explains why I missed it. I did Ares as the very first mission and then shortly after that I decided to visit the crazy Russian on the ship. Only then did I realize he was Racter.

The Ares mission, where you have to plant incriminating data and then steal a FRIKKIN' LASER GUN to plant its GPS tracker chip in order to incite hostilities.

He wants you to steal back the self repair system that his colleagues stole from him, it basically makes his drone as deathless as his folklore counterpart, by repairing him (like a doc wagon kit) every time he dies. It's self replenishing, so after you get that, his drone can't die.

By the way, talking about those quests, I was wondering two things:

-during the Ares/Racter mission, what happens if you decide to kill the runners and keep the laser for yourself? Do you get it as an added weapon to Racter's drone?

-during Is0bel mission, just before she opens the door to the VIP area, there's a small door where she can meet a decker with some awesome deck. I went with the route allowing her to look at how it's made but it seems there's a way to threaten him with a pistol. Do you get the deck for Is0bel if you do?

If any of the two before lets you keep the thing, how good is it?

You get the gun as an added weapon to his drone no matter what you do, it's his final upgrade choice in his talent tree, if you pick the gun option, you get the laser.

And I have no idea, I never kept it, and none of my characters so far use guns, maybe on my next playthrough. Magic and cyberweapons are too much fun...

1) You just get a weapon, you can use it yourself, or you can give it to Duncan or whoever else. I didn't like the weapon much to be honest. Can't say in specifics, but kind of meh.
2) Haven't tried this yet. But I'm currently playing as a do(u)che-bloodthirsty-mage and as it happens I am currently stopped on this mission! So, it's gonna get a helluva bloody, and I'll try this out. Too bad, I just took a break, and will try this only after 8-9 hours. By this time, you will probably find this out yourself, or someone else will tell you.

The laser rifle is easily the best sniper rifle in the game (20 damage, higher accuracy, 3 round ammo cap). It's definitely worth grabbing early if you're planning on using rifles, or if you want to give Duncan more options in battle. It's only outclassed by the Minigun, which isn't available until the very end of the game.

I never ended up stealing the deck at DeckCon, though. I might have to give that a try with my next character. It may be that you can't steal it at all, though, and that threatening the owner will just get him to call security or something. :P

What bugs me the most about these is that they dont give you any money at the end of the run. If you did it wouldnt have been so bad. I feel like i barely bought anything and got no money left. I have never bought any consumables am still using the starting smg only thing i bought is 2 bits of cyberware new deck and armour. Im not even close to being able to afford last tier programs or fairlight excalibur or high tier armour. I think ill stick to slim case 10.

The companion quests seem kind of broken, at least in regards to rewards. You get Karma for them, but other than Gaichu's quest (which nets you nuyen), you don't get any significant reward. All three quests are SUPPOSED to give you upgrades for the appropriate ally, but the upgrades for Is0bel and Gobbet seem to be glitched. Both of them talk about how they got something, but their attributes and inventories aren't modified accordingly.

EDIT - Actually, I take that back. At least on Is0bel's mission, you get a chance to buy a NovaTech Slim deck. That's the second-best decking rig in the game, so getting your hands on it early is a nice bonus.

Yeah, you're supposed to get some sort of confusion grenade for Gobbet (which she goes into detail about being pretty much a dimension rending pebble that fills its targets mind with the wails of demon rats) or an ambiguous "combat package" for Is0bel that is supposed to somehow make her better, in some way.
You get neither, and Gobbet is stuck with an unusable devil rat fetish in her inventory if you pick the plague wall ability, presumably the same thing happens with the plague wall fetish if you pick the devil rat. All in all, a trifecta of bugged items that really bums me out every time I look at the inventory screen.

At least the drone's item actually works.

From what i have seen, finishing Isobel's quest allows her IC attack in matrix to do splash damage. which is pretty neat,
and completing gaichu's allows him to get a movement dmg buff when landing a killing blow.
