About the ending *Spoilers*
So I got to the confrontation with Qian Ya and I talked with Crafty to learn about her mother's research. However I'm kind of stuck, I am not sure how to convince the Yama Kings to leave. Anyone figure out what dialogue to pick or am I missing something?

There are 4 endings, you get one for convincing Yama to leave, but she takes Raymond with her

i dont think i want to go to the effort of save editing or replaying an hour and a half of the game to save raymond, let the dead sleep and all that jazz. Thanks for the help identifying the triggers. Just wish I knew dreaming had an impact on the story, thought all I needed was crafty, Is0bel, and the conversation

I saw a guide that says you have to talk to Duncan after EVERY mission, but I did not talk to him after the very first one (Strangler Bao), does this mean I cannot get Good Fortune?

There are a bunch of pre requisites to get the good fortune ending.

Sleep 5x.
Talk to Is0bel until you hear the story of the kid who tricked a Yama King
Talk to Crafty until you get her mother's total research
Read all the e-mails containing information about the walled city and Crafty's findings.
As mentioned, keep talking to Qian Ya until the "It doesn't matter ... etc" line appears in the dialogue.

Hmm, interesting question. I did see something somewhere about talking to Duncan to get a line about something Raymond said long ago. I don't recall it specifically. On the other hand, I did talk to every crew member after every mission anyway, as a matter of course, to make sure I got all the side missions and fleshed out all their backstories. So I would have qualified in that regard anyway.

The dialogue lines about NPC backstories don't seem to go away, however. You can speak to a crew member 2x in a row to catch up, so I don't think any irreparable damage has been done.

OK, found the reference. You have to talk to Duncan to find out what Raymond used to say to break up family fights. You should be able to catch up on that one. Just be careful, since there are probably other dialogue options that Duncan offers. I may have hit that one by pure luck.

Whatever you do, don't take the 14 years of good luck ending. You end up fighting and killing half the crew, which I suspect means that they will NOT be available for the extended post-ending campaign. (I don't know if using BuMoNa kits to revive them is an option, but I strongly suspect not).

I haven't done it myself, but apparently if you do the Bonus campaign with a save where you took the 14 years of good luck then said campaign is easier to compensate (which is in-universe due to your super-luck: guards call in sick, electronic barriers break at just the right time, that sort of thing.)

Yeah, it's weird how the best ending outcome is essentially hidden behind some totally optional things game doesn't track in any way, or at least compared to original and Dragonfall where it comes down to either your straight up choice or skills . Especially the whole Crafty sub-story which I imagine a lot of players skipped seeing as she was just telling you her life story at the beginning.

Well, I learned from Dragonfall to always talk to everyone after every mission. If nothing else, you can unlock additional side missions to get extra cash and karma. In HK, they simply carried this trend even further, making doing this even more vital.

Yeah the easiest way to get the good ending is to play a mage as that gives you an incentive to speak to Crafty, its also fairly easy to miss the final part of Is0bel's dialouge as you don't get it right away after finishing her side mission.
