Whampoan Puppet Bug
Sold all my metadata to Maximum Law for cash. He was later replaced by a strange merchant simply called Whampoan Puppet. Was able to use him as a decker store like Law but now when I enter dialogue with him he says "how can I assist you" and the option button that used to bring me to the storefront now just closes the dialogue.

I'm a decker without any access to decking equipment now. Anyone else having this problem? Other stores/characters work, it's just the one I need that doesn't.

Same here

If you sell too much metadata to Law, Strangler Bao will ask you to shut him up. If you continue to sell metadata to him anyway, then Bao will kill him. The puppet is the replacement that appears after he's dead (if either you or Bao kill him), or if he leaves town (which can happen based on dialogue options).

The inability to access the store does sound like a glitch, though. The puppet is obviously supposed to serve as a replacement merchant.

Thanks Horo, I think I've already asked you this on another post but how did Bao reach out to you to tell you to shut Law up? Email, in-person? Wondering how i missed that.

if you sell enough metadata to Law (3 for me), you can go to Mahjong Parlor and strike a conversation with Bao.
I think he contacted you through email.

Thank you. I'll know for next time. Sadly it doesn't do anythign for the android/decker store glitch.

This is clearly a glitch, and it's game breaking for me since my main character is a Decker. ETA on a bug fix, hairbrained?

I am also a decker, and had this same annoying glitch. However, near the end (before the Prosperity Tower run) Law magically reappeared, standing next to the puppet, and I was able to upgrade my gear. :)
Same thing happening here.

Akos: same here. Still seemed odd, like they patched him in for a qucik fix. The android was still there standing beside him with the same broken dialogue but at least I was able to grab the fairlight deck and tier III programs from Law and complete the game.

And 3.05 still didn't fix the issue

Same here. Started out with Law and the puppet being there at the same time, which shouldn't be possible, and both having the same inventory. Then Law disappears and the conversation with the puppet cuts short, like the OP said.
Try restarting/rewinding the level. I think that did the trick for me after the 3.0.5 update.
