I think the encounter with steelsomething is a bit buggy if you give them the rifle, though (He says he splatted another team who didn't have the rifle, yet they had the rifle and you run into them later... or was there a 3rd team in the subway that evening?
Everybody wanted a piece of that laser, after all. That aggro drekhead and your team probably weren't the only ones who did their legwork and found out that the abandoned MTR station was the obvious way out of the Ares facillity.
He may well have splattered some completely different team who had the idea of camping out down there and jacking the laser from whomever wound up getting it.
It's actually 20 damage, but yeah, it also ignores 2 points of armor, and its aimed shot attack ignores 3 points (while of course having higher accuracy). It's pretty nice.
And if you have the autoloader cyberarm then the 3 shots before reload downside is negated, since that arm autoreloads for no AP.
Prototype Sniping Laser
Dam=20, Rng=L, Cap=3 / Pierces up to 2 armor. It is slightly more accurate than a traditional weapon. / Price=2000
- Ranged Combat 6
- Strength 3
It's not worth to invest in strength for me, so i sold it for 1000 nuyen.
