I have not been able to use the new hacking minigame correctly. My understanding is that I am supposed to type the letters in the same order that they light up on the keypad. However, everytime I try to do this, it gives me a red button press on the last number in the sequence. I have not been able to get past any wall without brute forcing it in the Matrix. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong. I am using Is0bell as my hacker.

Following what they type on the left is a basic simon-like game where you just copy exactly what it does after it is done. This seems to give you more time on the top. Also doing them all once gives you an achievement from what I can tell.

After that, if you click next it will start randomly picking symbols along the top to show you. Their location is important, as they aren't just random blips. From the list of collections below, you have to find one that matches and pick it.

So if for example it shows you that the 3rd square is a circle and a < through it, look at the ones below it. Find all that have the same circle + < in the 3rd slot. If there are more than one, then you are going to need to watch above and find more symbols. Say the next one shows the 1st as an M.

If there is only one with an M to start and a O+< for the 3rd. That's it! Click it! Otherwise, watch and find another symbol. You can click - start I think it is labeled - and do the simon minigame some more for more time as far as I remember.

My problem is that I have never been able to complete one interaction of the Simon game. It always tells me that I entered a wrong number. Do you have to wait for the whole number to be displayed before trying it?

Its is a 2 part hack, the keypad number memory game is the first part it adds time to the second part you dont have to do the number matching but it gives extra time to the second part of the game. When you feel you have enough extra time click the next button and part 2 starts it will randomly flash symbols you want to match the full list of symbols only 1 of the 8 or 10 groups is correct. You want it to show enough symbols that you can match the correct sequence. Pick the group that is the correct and it will unlock for you. If you click the wrong one it takes a few seconds to reset so you can try again.

You can forget Keypad. You have to correctly guess the pattern when you press "next", which is more of individual's ability of comprehense than actual gaming skill. You can do it quickly or with hints from doing keypad.

The hacking minigame is composed of two parts. The first part is Simon Says, where you just copy the random number code the game tells you to. Every time you do this correctly, additional time is added to your overall time limit. You can entirely skip this first part by inputting NEXT.

The second part is a little trickier, but not by much. You have to pick the correct sequence of code, and the game will randomly flash certain bits of the correct code at the top of the hacking screen so that you can eliminate wrong sequences. Just pick the sequence with matching symbols and you're done.

Yes, you have to wait. Numbers pressed before it is done won't count. I think there is a red light that turns blue in the UI once you can input? I can't remember. Also you will see an indication as you press the keys that they are working. As others said, that simon-like part isn't a big deal most of the time, but if you just need the extra time or want the achievement I can see going for them all. Just let it go through first entirely, then follow it up.

Just figured out my problem. You can't start typing out the keypad until after it has finished the whole sequence.

this mini stinks to high heaven, these devs suck, give the franchise to another studio already or bring in the dudes from the Snes one

I like how they revamped the esthethics from Returns and DF but avoiding detection is now tedious for a point-and-click adventure. I like the hacking minigame now even tho I avoided it entirely on my first run thru. With Is0bel bouncing attack you can break the ICs pretty easily when the alarm goes off.
